Sans Money/Availability - Better Sedan Out There?
Stupid question in a BMW forum full of coupe owners and by a man already committed (to the M3, but the other definition works too) but anyone in the market for a sedan (four adults or one adult and four kids) who'd prefer another car if they had more money or the other car was more available (which ultimately boils down to money too)?
If you had $1,000,000 to spend, could you buy a more appealing driver oriented sedan? P.S. If I didn't want a sedan it would be a whole other ballgame for me. For me, the strength of this car is that it is the ultimate four adult sedan. Coupe owners try not to puke on my thread. Comments welcome |

I don't quite see any other car company make a Quality Sport Sedan like BMW. I have driven a jaguar, didnt turn me on. Driven an Audi (albiet base model) A4, was cool, but didn't wow me. Mercedes is all automatic, so I dont bother, driven an Accord, Corolla.
I am quite fortunate in life financially (investing), and even If I did have a million to spend, best choice no matter what for comfortability and sportiness in a sedan would have to be a BMW. |

well you could always look at a used RS4 sedan....or perhaps the C63AMG, IS-F?

not a big fan of the rear but would still get the M3 sedan. The only other car would be M5 - which I can afford - but the jerky SMG + not as tossible like a 3 gave me pause....although great acceleration even with 4 adults. Have drive the M3 sedan in comfort mode+ normal/sport a number of times now- great daily driver....so the combo of sport + daily drive + DCT is something no one else can touch (at least for now). Would stick to M3

Have yet to drive the M3, but all reviews have been great. If space is a concern, I'd go with the M5.

Maybe a Maserati Quattroporte, but at 4400 lbs it would probably feel less nimble. I suppose you could also think about a CL65 AMG; I know it's a coupe, but has room for 4 adults. In any event, pretty sure that would feel very big.
BTW - I went through this same thought process a few months back and ended up with an M3 Sedan... and LOVE it. |

does the Ferarri 599 seat four? that would do it for me, plus an M3 to drive to the mall for $1M.

Sounds like you've narrowed it down to.... the M3 Sedan and.... the M3 Sedan.
So with one MILLION box it would be no problem to get the M3 Sedan 6MT RIGHT NOW (there are plenty on lots) and an M3 Sedan M-DKG in 6 months. Otherwise....... the Evo X is pretty hot, don't you think? Maybe it's just me.

I'm also a fan of the Maserati. Might be worth your time to wait and see what the final Porsche Panarama will look like. In the spy photos it looks a bit ugly but the final product might work. Not a sedan but the Cayenne Turbo is pretty sweet too.

I was thinking the same thing when I read the first post. Has to be one the sexiest four doors ever created. The new 4 door Aston will be a winner too. I agree on the weight though. In the end I'd still want the M3 in the garage also. |
