Does the BT tool do it on an M3? I thought it wasn't available for the M3!

Sterling did my battery for $375 + tax. Not bad considering I got quotes as high has $700 from other dealerships.

i just called my favorite dealer and battery cost $135 + tax.. plus coding at EAS cost $90 bucks..

im looking for someone that can code cheaper... i know it takes less than 30 minutes to register... I know some guy that can code anything i want on the car for 50 bucks and thats any code i want on the car... just forgot his SN...

i called several dealers including my favorite dealer and 3 others said coding will cost.. $500-700 and i gave them a little insight on how coding works and made it seem like i dont know what i was talking about..

ME: Hi i would like to get a quote on getting my battery register.
DEALER: ok let me check.. Retrofit, coding and register will cost you $825
ME: Retrofit? Coding? All i need is to register, also what retrofit are you talking about its a battery replacement.
DEALER: We have to make install and make it fit and it will take time to code..
ME: (at this point im already cracking up) Retrofit? how would you retrofit a battery that is a rectangular shape and the new one is exact same size. I can install that without any issue. all i need is to register..
DEALER: (he mumbles and stumbles on words) oh oh I mis-understood you.. oh ok you just need to register.. let me see... it will cost $230
ME: to register a battery can take 30-45 minutes and will cost $230?
DEALER: yes
ME: how much do you charge per hour on Labor?
DEALER: $90
ME: ok doesnt that answer just how much you should charged me?
DEALER: no no its different..
ME: CLICK

I dunno if that's the right battery. I am pretty sure that it is ~$280 for the OEM battery.

I guess your right... since i just found out that there are 15 battery that is attached to a 2008 M3 in the computer, i was quoted one with low AMPERAGE and CAA. i looked at my battery and cost $210 which is the 90ah and 900 amperage... which is still good enough was hoping to pay $135 though... LOL

anyways cant complain cause the newer battery for 2012-2013 cost around $510 its weird how every year has different battery part number.

ok--this is incredibly confusing. battery prices vary according to size, but why does bmw use different batteries? If i had gone with a Civic M3, i would need a smaller battery, but if I have a car with auto start/stop, I would need a $500 battery for all the constant drain!

For those looking to shed some pounds, use either the Z4 or MINI battery on our website. They bolt into the stock location and work perfectly.

For those needing the additional CCAs (extreme cold or lots of gadgets), stick with the OEM size.

New models have start/stop, so you get bigger battery... that cost a LOT MORE!!!

Alex with Alpine coding did some coding for me remotely for $60. He's in your neck of the woods too.

How long would you expect the z4 or mini battery to last compared to OEM sized?

Been running one since 2011. No issues on on storage (~1month) or everyday driving.
