VMR Matte Finish Wheels Discolored
Good morning everyone, I have a set of VMR Matte Black wheels I use in the winter, last year I must have let the road salt and brake dust sit too long on the wheels. The inner spokes are very rough and the inner wheel area is also rough. The rear wheels are perfectly smooth. I did clay bar all the wheels and it helped remove some of the roughness, but the fronts kinda look discolored. Is there anything else i can use to clean them and follow up with a paint sealant? I looked into Wolf's Chemicals for the wheel sealant but I want the front wheels to look good again like the rears. Any help would be great.
Thank you |

Try washing them with some sonax and brushes. That should help out a bit

Acidic wheel cleaners do have the ability to hear the finish on the wheels as well, so you might want to clean them up as much as possible with soap and water. I guess the only real way to ensure it doesn't happen again is to make sure the salt/snow doesn't stay on the wheels for an extended period of time, but I guess you unfortunately have already found that out.
Good luck with cleaning those wheels up!
