Tire width with Eibach springs, 19 oem wheels
I did some searching but didn\'t find much.. I\'m looking to replace my oem PS2\'s and want to widen them as much as I can without rubbing. These would be for street only... I currently am running a 10mm spacer (front and rear) on Eibach springs.
I\'m looking at the Pilot Super Sports ad the replacement. Can I go with a 255 front/285 rear? Would the 10mm spacers still work? |

255/35R19's front and 275/35R19's rears are plenty for OEM wheels. He said street only so I'd think DSC would be good to keep working right I dunno about tire clearance, though. Someone should comment whether the drop+spacers would cause 275/35 to rub. Seems like it isn't too much of a change. |

Yes, because MDM lowers the intervention point. However, it is still going to be more intrusive in any mode than it would with a stock front/rear height ratio.

255's front with spacer have caused rubbing in a couple of cases, but not always and not too severe. Alignment setting and variance from one car to another are probably what makes it hit or miss. At worst, you'd need a camber change or take out the spacer.

Which OEM wheels are you running?
I don't think you'll have any problems running 255/285 PSS on Eibachs with 10mm spacers all around. You MIGHT have a problem in the rear but if anything I'd take off the rear spacer and just run one up front. You might need to run some camber though. Let us know how it goes! |

What's the biggest rear tire you could use on a oem zcp rim lowered on dinan springs I don't see a need to widen the front tires and I don't want to use any spacers?

**EDIT 10/25/11*** With the 285/30/19 rear tires on the factory rims I would not recommend. The tires DO NOT rub however they are a little too wide fo rthe rim and I experienced a stability problem in the rear. Car would feel like it was swaying while on the highway...Almost like I did not have enough air pressure in them... I tried 3 diff tire manufactures, many different tire pressures and all gave the same result I spoke to a few shops and they said the 285 tire overhangs the factory rim and the sidewall flexes.. So I now have 275-35-19 coming and will update you guys on this! Last edited by Boosted-M; 10-21-2011 at 09:46 AM.. |
