Question 08 M3 on leasetrader - 13 month 970/ month $30k buyout, good deal?

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
None

Item Interest
I saw this M3 on leasetrader. Has anyone used the site before? Also, what do you think about the price of the car?

$970.50 p/month
13 Months Remaining
2,082 miles p/month
$30,206.00 Lease End Buyout

I have been looking to purchase an 08 M3, and this one would end up costing me about $43,500 or so by the time I'd purchase it in 13 months.

I have never leased a car before, let alone taken over a lease, would this really be about the same as getting the car for $43,500? Am I missing anything?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

yes and you can probably talk them down some when you do the buyout.

I acquired my M3 via lease takeover, and it was fine. This looks like it could be a good deal, but I would definitely have the car inspected. Note that the actual lease payment is $1,220 per month (which is astronomical for an M3), but the seller is throwing in a $3k cash incentive. He's obviously pretty motivated to get rid of the car. If you want the car but don't want to take over his lease (which I'm guessing has a high interest rate given his monthly payment), you could just buy it out now. Good luck.

I'll have to explore that option as well, thanks for the tip!
