BMW Driving Courses

Has anyone taken the BMW sponsored driving courses? I've signed up for the advanced one in Toronto, as a step to eventually take the M3 ones. Looks like they could be fun.

I'm pretty sure the lower level ones are run in the greater Vancouver area. I know an current M5/former M3 owner out there who has taken most of them. He had to come to Toronto to take the one where you drive M3s.

For the cost of the courses that get you into the M3's, you might want to consider the Bridgestone racing acadamy also. Open wheeled, open cockpit F2000 cars would be a blast as well, and the two day course is $800 less then BMW's Facination1.
Its $3350 for the BMW course...for that money, you could do many JV lapping days including a brake pad change and a set of tires...and have some money left over for some private coaching from Duncan

I've done a half day course at the Bridgestone academy. Tons o fun, but if you are big and tall you will get fairly well bruised up as the may have to take the seat out and put in a bit of foam. Shoulders, knees and hands will be in a mild degree of pain for a couple of days as a result of bumping into and scraping against parts of the interior of the car.

I enjoy track days with Duncan more, but if you want to do some tracking, I think you have to do the Bridgestone academy at least once

Yes - I did the Advanced and Perfection courses in Toronto.

Lot of fun. Expensive frankly for what it is, but still very enjoyable! I wouldn't do fascination - the price/value just isn't there.

Perfection means you get some time in the M3's. When I took Advanced, there were no M3's (not sure if that's changed now though).

I have also gone through the whole training venue...

Advanced...Perfection and Fascination

After Perfection...that's what got me owning a M3.

Fascination is expensive...but you are being taught how to use a M3 correctly in an actual race track and knowing the limit of your car.

Here is my review on Fascination course and also some videos
