Hesitation and poor tip-in when engine is cold

Is it normal to have hesitation, poor tip-in, and clunky noises coming from tranny/diff when engine is relatively cold (meaning the redline is between 6500-8000rpm)?

I just picked up a 2008 m3 with 30,000km and CPO from a BMW dealer. Just wondering if all this is normal.

Oh and engine no matter if it's warm or cold at startup it has a loud ticking for 2-5 minutes. Not rod knock or misfire, just ticking similar to injector noise just way louder.

Normal to an extent.

When the secondary air system is running, the car likes to buck and is choppy on tip in. Going really easy on the throttle when the car is cold and keeping it consistent will help reduce this.

Turning off power mode helps too.

In my experience, this can be largely (maybe totally) eliminated by a tune.
