New Blog: Tire Rack One Lap of America 2011 with mostly stock 2011.5 ZCP

On March 1st, I launched the blog for my 2011 One Lap of America Team:

We are taking a different approach from my friends @ Schaut Motorsports.

Our goal is to see how well a mostly stock 2011.5 ZCP can do against the entire field and more modified cars like the Schaut Active Autowerke E90 M3.

One way or the other, we will have a heck of a lot of fun...
One Lap of America is a very social event.

You come for the cars, but you return for the people.

The event doesn't start till April 30th, but I think some of the build-up, prep and practice may be of interest.

We did pretty well in 2009 in our stock Performance Center E90 M3. We haven't decided conclusively that we'll be there in 2011. We're actively investigating it though.......

I got some great news!

My dealer, Otto's BMW (West Chester, PA) is generously offering some exciting support to our team for the 2011 Tire Rack One Lap of America!

You may be aware that BMW has recently released the BMW M Performance lightweight "cat-back"
exhaust system for the 2008-2011 E90/E92/E93 V8 M3.

The product launch was marked by this video:

Based on the BMW video, I liked the sound, styling and the significant weight savings right off the bat.

The fact that it is a BMW factory-approved accessory stays true to my overall goal of campaigning a BMW that is as close to out of the box "stock" as possible.

I took a meeting at Otto's BMW with a this exhaust on the top of my wishlist for support.
The exciting news is that I have an appointment to get it installed next week, and we are working on some Otto's BMW Graphics for the car to display on One Lap.

Otto's BMW has a long tradition of supporting Del Val Chapter BMW CCA Motorsports endeavors, and this year, I am very proud to say that they are helping my special mission.

As soon as the system it installed we will get our own sound clips and videos in production.

Special thanks (in advance) to General Manager Michael E Vadasz, Lisa Thompson in Marketing and Parts Manager Gerry Walsh for considering and approving our agenda!

I am glad you like Michelin tires despite you "general feelings" about the French. That last bit saddens me a little...

... we have a tough act to follow.

"Little birdies" are saying the 2011 field will be the most competitive in a while.
