Updates? Curious to see how the DCT SSP clutch upgrades work. I have been following your thread and Stickys thread on www.b*mmerb**st.com to see who actually uses the DCT SSP clutch upgrade first.

Hey Guys,
We have had some issues with the transmission, it's been quite a lengthy ordeal in regards to trying to diagnose / fix what the problem is, currently I just want the car running and back on the road, so a stock clutch has been installed, but the car should be ready for Mfest.

Chris and Jeremy at SSP were great, awesome guys. Right now I'm not sure what caused the issue, I don't know much about this SSP clutch except from the feedback I got from Eugene that cars were running it successfully in Taiwan as well as others. Given the power I'm at I wasn't sure i had any other option, but my stock clutch was pretty beat up, and that's most likely do to the all the 1/4 mile passes. As of now it did not work on my car for whatever reason, it may not have anything to do with the clutch, I don't know, I just want to drive the car again, lol. BUT I do plan on possibly working with Chris and Jeremy@SSP in the future, so we'll see.

I did, but the car didn't, lol. I drove the Orange Arkym M3 with the ESS VT650 kit. It was a lot of fun, wish you could have gone! Car is fixed now, hope to get it back this weekend.

Appreciate that guys. Before the clutch was slipping the car ran great, we just needed to do a few tweaks with the fuel system, add the new 7 rib pullies, and a new X pipe, but ESS and I agreed that the clutch should be done at the same time as you saw in the vid it was slipping badly. Unfortunately it didn't work out exactly as we planned, that's the nature of being the first running Stage 3 with DCT. We will see how well a new stock clutch holds and for how long, I needed one anyway as the original one was shot, it took a lot of abuse!
The transmission issue we think will turn out to be a blessing in disguise as we learned a few things about it and we can now test how long a new stock clutch pack holds this kind of power, if she doesn't hold for long then we'll explore other options with Kris and Jeremy at SSP. Looking forward to getting it back and getting some #'s, with a working clutch this time.

At this point we plan to tear down the old transmission and figure out what went wrong. There's really no reason to suspect that anything was wrong with the SSP clutches and I'm still looking forward to working with Chris and Jeremy @ SSP. That's the plan. Dig into the old tranny, find out what happened, and then work with Chris and Jeremy @ SSP to add their clutches back to the old tranny and give it another try.

Jesus---Well since you've replaced everything now, there shouldn't be anymore breaking.
Good luck to you and I know it's been a long time.

Roman at ESS has been great to deal with, and it's just a little setback on an incredible project. To be honest, despite what I've gone though, I've been very fortunate with this car and believe it or not I have had more fun with it than any other car I've owned.
