Possible recall on headlights
Greetings Forum,
I went to pick up my long awaited M3 Coupe from the dealer (I ordered through military sales so it took forever) and I asked the manager why my car was stuck at customs for over a month when BMW North America contacted me and said it would be three weeks max. The manager and my appointed dealer told me that BMW had discovered a flaw with all the new M3 headlights (didn't specify what part of the lighting system) and that all the cars that came on the same vessel as mine needed to be fixed at the Vehicle Processing Center. The parts were ordered from Germany and thus delayed the delivery of my car. Besides that, I am happy with my car. Just more confused on how to use it than when Vista first came out. I thought I would just give you guys a heads up. I have no paperwork to substantiate this, just thought I would share. Take care folks! ~Buffalo |

Let us know if you find anything further on this.
I would hate for my dealer to say "btw, we swapped out you headlights while we had it"...I have my GP Thunders in there plus they have VentureShield on them. I would make them agree to pull the bulbs first (or I would if I knew in advance) and pay for new VentureShiled on the headlights plus install before they worked on it.

the first week i had my car, i kept getting an idrive adaptive headlight error. it was a factory faulty adaptive headlight control unit. they swapped it out and it has been fine since then.
the front bumper had to be taken off to replace the part though. |
