My 1st ED cleared customs in one day and cleared VDC in 2 days
2nd one spent 3 weeks in customs....It was very painfull..... Those are the joys of ED and I will not buy a BMW without doing a ED (when offered) It is all worth the wait.

I happen to think car processing through the VPC is orchestrated by BMW, and that it's based on money flow. For example, if a ship has 3000 cars and, say, 1000 are sold and If the average sale price is, let's say, $40,000, then BMW stands to get $40,000,000 as soon as they get the cars to the dealer. I think that's important to BMW and to the dealers. My guess is they feel they need to get EDs to the customers no later than 8 weeks from drop off. That's the only requirement which could create a higher priority than getting a sold car to a dealer. |

Mine cleared in four days. It was four weeks from drop off in Paris to re-delivery. Some have experienced much longer delays in customs.
