Need DIY Exhaust Tips

Does anyone have a DIY for installation of the Black Chrome Exhaust Tips? I ordered a set and wanted to know how hard it would be to take off the old ones and install the new ones.

Thanks

i havent seen one but ill try to explain.

1. Remove the exhaust axle back only

2. drill the rivets 4 each tip... (make sure your drill got power) not the dremmel.)

3. twist and turn and pull

4. put your black chrome tip....

5. rivet each corner... ( i got a rivet gun and the rivet at Home Depot) FYI make sure you get the correct size... proper width and the size. if its too long it wont fit, it will stick out. and the rivets doesnt hold it properly. so bring your tip to home depot to get the right fit (width) rivet. it has to fill the entire hole.

XTRA STEP.

before putting the tip make sure you sand and paint the exhaust to hide the ugly OEM color can. you can also buy the paint at Home Depot. high temp paint.

Looks like you have an e90 correct?

I wanted the BMW OEM black chrome tips. When I looked further into it and emailed Tischer about them. The parts guy said the tips were for the e92 only and he was not sure if they would fit the e90 M3.

I'm not sure how much longer/shorter the black oem tips will be for the e90 when installed.

Did you already install them? How is the fitment?

They are a little longer than the base E90 tips but they look great in my opinion. I had my local BMW dealer install them. They had to drop the exhaust and re-rivet the new tips on but other than that no problems whatsoever.

mgi, how much did your dealer charge you for that? I'm wondering if it's worth the effort to just do it myself since I'd have to buy a few things.

Those rivets were a pain to take off and put on.
