Here's a picture of the discontinued extra equipment "Platane" on the Z4. But I really don't know if it's just that wood in black or if there are structural differences...

South, the press kit mentions high class wood as another separate option- so that would make 5 options.........

And..........stop nitpicking my poll.....

Thanks South!

So, the wood color would be of a black origin?

And, I did see the high class woord thing kinda mentioned as a second wood choice, yet later in the press release it only stated four....

From the press kit:
Four exclusive trim strips extending throughout the entire width of the
dashboard beneath the Control Display and instrument cluster, provide further
options in customising the new BMW M3.
1) The “basic” trim comes in Titanium Shadow,
2) with Aluminium Shadow and
3) special leather tanned in carbon design as well as
4) high-class wood in fine-grain surface design and platane wood in Anthracite
all being available as an option. In each case, the trim strip gives the
interior of the new BMW M3 its own very special touch ranging from cool
high-tech to sporting elegance.

That make four interior trims, the high-class wood is the Platane anthracite.

Sorry for nitpicking, maybe you should start a new poll!?

Best regards, south

South, I think you've had one too many pints of fine German beer...!

It says High class wood in fine grain surface design AND platane wood in Anthracite.....That is two distinctly different things.........

No more beer for you South!

You're funny.
Maybe the english translation isn't quite clear, but I checked also the german "original" press release. Whereas the english translation could really be understood in the way you did, the german grammar is quite clear and talks about ONE high class wood trim which has a fine-grained surface AND is made from platane wood. So the AND in the text combines two attributes of the one wood trim.

Best regards, south

Yes, I'm German.
BTW There's still a fifth interior trim: You can get a real CF trim as extra equipment, but that's no factory option. (1.220 € in Germany)

It's part of the german price list. Behind the standard equipment list and the optional equipment list there's also short excerpt of the extra equipment list (starting page 12).

Referring the color...yes it should be black (or is anthracite more of a dark grey?), But I don't know if the picture I posted is already "fine-grain."

Best regards, south

Anthracite is the colour of the seats on my E36, which is a darkish grey.

Is titanium shadow the only trim that doesn't cost extra or is Aluminum shadow also a no cost option?
