It suppose to use the stock front pipes with the primary cat, and since the O2 sensors are located immediately before and after this cat, and they are what throws the CEL. Since they are left untouched, no CEL.
Now what I am wondering is if you are required to cut the stock mid-pipes off from the front pipes, or if there is a way to disconnect them.

You need to cut the OEM pipes because they are one piece from resonator up to headers.
But by leaving your stock primary cat you definitely won't get a CEL and you will pass inspection

It would be interesting to hear it on a stock exhaust.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

Guys, every single X pipe that doesn't also change the primary cats is NOT A BOLT ON. You must cut behind the primary cats and attach.
If you get a complete system from AA, Encore, Fabspeed, Riss, etc....., that includes either test pipes or HF cats, then these are bolt on. To recap, no company has a bolt on Xpipe that attaches to the stock cats. None. Zero.
