I would buy it if the dealer promises to buy it back for $150k in two years.

It actually does matter... that's the primary point of this thread. All I see is a bunch of people claiming how foolish it would be for someone to buy this car at $100K. If you can point out another brand-new car optioned like this one for significantly less money, then I'd concede that you (and everyone else) are correct. Otherwise, I continue to believe that this dealer's price isn't too far off-base.

Why all the hostility?

Considering that everyone on this board owns one of these, then why doesn't anyone see this as a compliment to the car you have chosen to buy?

The value of the current M3 is at a peak and will likely plummet soon, Or will it? Guess it depends on the next M3/4

The video was insanely retarded.... the lady is explaining the features of the car "including multi-funtion steering wheel, anti-lock brakes, automatic door locks.... etc etc" Are you f'in serious?! Not mentioning the features specific to M

But seriously, you have to realize they are trying to make a grab off that rare person who so highly values the (now old) M3 and frozen paint (which in white is not even so noticeable).

The other things you could buy with this money ... such as a brand new optioned M5 (base 90k).. makes this price just wishful salesmanship for them.

Do I care? No, but it's worth pointing out how ridiculous their price is consiering MSRP for the car is probably 85k, over a year ago.

85k and 100k... beautiful cars to see firsthand.

SF BMW knows there are people with the funds who are willing to pay for something out of "want"

its worth what the market is willing to pay for it and it seems like SF doesnt mind waiting until someone makes it worth 100k

That car has been on their lot for at least 8 months. I remember seeing it when I was looking for mine starting in August.

Vegaseric, its only worth what someone will pay, and since they still have it I guess they haven't found that special sucker..... or it is overpriced.

Someone needs to tell them that it's an M3, not a 1M coupe..

Everyone here is thinking inside the box... Look at it this way, If anyone wants to sell/trade their car, take it to SF BMW.. This dealer apparently thinks the M3 is premium price worthy..

The Frozen gimmick wasn't a huge seller. Its just a novelty (and high maintenance) paint color. Nothing about it warrants a huge price increase. The fact that a 2013 remains glued to the lot despite sitting next to 2014 and now 2015s says everything. FYI- the few frozen paint M3s I have seen for resale have been priced around what non-frozen ones have. Same for Lime-rocks (although good luck finding a stock one, seems every I see is modded).

So, in summary their price is crazy pants. But it just takes one gullible sucker to fall for it. Once the 2015s show up I bet they will deal on it.

How many brand-new 2013 "frozen" M3s are available for sale? I'm well aware that you can get a low-mileage, used frozen or Lime Rock M3 for a lot less. This car isn't being marketed, nor priced, for someone looking for a low-mileage driver. If it was, the car would have been offered at MSRP and sold accordingly. There are a handful of collectors out there who will pay a premium for an exclusive model like this one. Of course, it remains to be seen if such an investment will yield returns. You would be a "gullible sucker" to buy this car if there were others in similar condition (read... "brand-new") for sale at a significantly lower price.

An E92 M3 is a dime a dozen. A bit of paint doesn't make it exclusive or a collector's item.

The "bit of paint" does in fact make it exclusive. 1 of 150 pretty much guarantees exclusivity in the automotive world. Whether or not it is a collector's item remains to be seen.

There are not many 2013's left over in general, those that are would be due to poor market demand or over pricing. Its not a good thing, nor does it make it more valuable. It is a signal a dealer misread the market badly.

And the paint doesn't make it any more exclusive that a BMW Individual color selection, its just a non-standard color. The entire model has to be low production (1M Coupe) or a variant with significant desirable changes (E46 CSL) those would add value.

The used Frozen's are not selling at a premium over a similar mileage/features stock paint. If anything the matte paints maintenance requirements may run off buyers not wanting the hassle.

But please, continue being wrong- its kind of funny now.

Can't believe it's still for sale. It was at the dealer last April when I picked mine up.
