rim repair in columbus?

hi all,

happy new years. Does anyone know a reputable place to refinish one 219m that got curbed. It is not bent. Just needs some curb rash fixed.

I've used, "Wheel Professionals" by the airport and was happy with the results. They use a wheel lathe so it's not just sanded / painted. The 219's have some texture to them though, so not sure how that would work. I need to take my 220's in too. Maybe we can get a bulk deal if they can in fact fix curb rash on a textured surface? Let me know what you find out. Good luck!

Edit: checked out wheel medic personally and they appear to be the better, more reputable place to go. They even had a few out of state high performance cars there when I went.

+1 for WheelMedic. Had a set of Volks refinished and it came out better than brand new.

So I just wanted to post a follow up... I took my wheel to wheel medic and they made the wheel look brand new for 75 bucks. Highly recommended!

OP, your location says Chicago AND Columbus. If you come to Chicago regularly, I can recommend a good place around here to do it. They fixed my 359M wheels and did an awesome job reproducing the factory hypersilver. They do allow you to ship, if you don't want to drag a whole wheel/tire set.

Any chance you're dragging the stock 219s + winter tires with you? I have been thinking of changing up my winter wheels. :-)

If you commit with a ~$250 deposit I can bring them to Chicago in April. I should be coming to visit my folks the last Saturday of April. . The wheels and tire set are solid, only reason I'm selling is because im not driving the m3 anymore in the winter and my garage is overflowing.

Thanks for the lead on that repair shop!

Another Columbus resident here. Never been to cars and coffee. Is it cool? Their web page seems to always showcase some unimpressive import cars, but maybe that's just because of the weather recently?

It is honestly hit or miss. IF the weather is nice there may be some cars that come out… I went a couple of times and stopped by for a bit while doing errands. Definitely don't expect Pebble Beach or even an OC C&C quality.

I think that's the point. We have Supercar Saturdays here in Chicago (same idea) and 95% of the vehicles that show up are daily drivers, not garage queens. It's good to see people driving and enjoying their cars. There are always a handful of Ferraris and Lambos, but also some older Porsches, an NSX or two, some Vipers, etc.

This is true. Ive done a few runs, the hocking hills run is great, 30-40 good cars. Also the Studio 47 meet is worth it. But the weekly meets at Lennox are def hit and miss. Honestly its not the most inviting group either. Not assholes, just cliquey. You feel like the new kid in class. Ive met a couple people there that are cool though. Def more fun of you know a few people.

Went today to C&C. Disappointed I didn't really see anything other than imports. Was an ok time, but would like to meet with other central Ohio M owners.
