E46 ZCP M3 or E9X M3?
I'm thinking about getting one or the other used and both start off with pretty low mileages with around the same price ranges (the ZCP M3 start off around 37k+ with 15k~40k on the clock while the E9X M3's are like below 10K for 40k-45k ish maybe borderline 50k). Which do you guys prefer?

37k for an E46 is a rip, even a ZCP
The E9x outperforms it significantly, anyhow

Depends on what you're looking for.
If you're more of luxury, gadget sports car person, E9X M3. If you're looking for more raw driving experienced sports car person, ZCP. I used to have an E46M3, def. a lot more raw then my current E90M3. But man- I can't even look at that MK IV Nav screen anymore. It's so outdated compare to my iDrive.

I know its sounds crazy paying almost 40k for a E46 but i've been through three E46's for daily driving so I've grown to like them i suppose I double checked with the owner and its a 2006 ZCP AW M3 with barely 20k (20,1xx) with all recalls done and 3 past oil changes. Not a single sign of wear on the alcantara wheel or the leather. But, yeah i suppose 37k is a bit high for a E46 xD thanks for helping me see the light guys!

So, the real question: is the E92 worth 20K more. Having owned both, I would say yes, the E92 M3 is better in every way, although the E46 is tuned to 'feel' more edgy when in fact it really can't keep up with the smoother running E92. However, on the limit I would say that the E92 feels plenty edgy. Lastly the E92 get's lousy mileage, but if that is an issue, well.... save yourself even more and buy an economy car.

I almost purchased a 2006 SMG competition package M3 the day before I got my e90 m3.
This e46 was amazing- zero options, no sunroof, competition package- Interlagos on black cloth. It had 14,000 miles on it and were asking 27,000 for it! I took it home for the weekend and that sunday, I went back to the dealership to buy it. Then the finance manager walks by me and says, go check out this 08 sedan for XXX dollars. Needless to say, I walked away with a BRAND NEW 08 m3 out the door for less than 49k instead of the e46.

Can't go wrong with either.
Personally I don't think the e9x is double the price. 25k to 50k but at 37k to 50k its probably worth it. You also get alot more warranty with the e9x which is always nice.
