M3 Wholesale and Euro Delivery

Hey guys, new here...pricing a 2009 M3 Sedan, and am curious about something.

If I build it on bmwusa.com...My build comes out to $61975.

Base MSRP $54,850
Jet Black $0
Fox Red Novillo Leather $0
Carbon Leather interior trim $0
Premium Package $2,000
Technology Package $3,250
Moonroof $1,050
Destination & Handling: $825
Total MSRP as Built $61,975


Now subtract the $3840 Euro discount, and we're at $58135.


Now here is the kicker...if I price the same exact car off of the wholesale sheet on the sticky, I price it at $56,750.

I have been told that as far as Wholesale goes, expect to pay $500 over or so.

My question is...why am I not saving hardly anything when pricing from the wholesale list vs. bmwusa.com? Am I missing something? Or is this just where the M3 price point is at? Can I still deduct the ED discount off the wholesale?
Sorry if this sounds dumb, just trying to get my ducks in a row.

(btw, neither quote counted gas guzzler)

$53,490...that sounds a LOT better, now it's negotiation time.

I'm planning it for my 30th birthday, which is a year from Friday. I realize prices will change a tad for a 2010, but I don't think a redesign or facelift is in the works, so it should within a grand. I hate to wait that long, but I figure it will be a birthday to remember.

Yep, I have heard it is truly and amazing experience, that's why I am itching to do it.
I travelled to Germany, Austria, and Switzerland when I was a child (7 years old) with my family to visit my Uncle who lived in Frankfurt at the time (Oklahoma now), and I have always wanted to go back, especially to tour Neuschwanstein. I plan on taking my parents along for the ride, because I am pretty sure they are not expecting to ever be able to go back.

You could always plan the trip about six or seven weeks before your birthday. That way it would arrive back home around the time your birthday falls. The flights would be a lot cheaper in May compared to July.

I took delivery with my wife and three kids on an M3 sedan in April. It was an awesome experience.

Valeram, what happens in the ED? Do you pick up the car from the factory floor?

You get welcomed, treated like a king, toured factories, introduced to your new car (frequently with the odometer reading 00000 or 00001), and then you get to drive it around in europe for as much as you want then return it anywhere and fly home, then they'll send the car later.

A salesman in SoCal filmed his entire delivery, from the purchase to the trip itself. It really gives you a good idea of what goes on.

If you have the time, well worth it!! From the autobahn, to visiting numerous countries, trip is hard to match. Now I want to try Nurburing on the next try.

Oh I will make the time.
Neuschwanstein is the number 1 goal. I toured it when I was barely 7 years old, and would give about anything to go back.

I just joined this great forum this morning..Currently leasing an IS350 but I'm just dying to get into a M3. I was contemplating going with the European Delivery. As far as ED pricing, do I get to negotioate the bottom line price with the dealer and then get the discount, or is it a straight discount off sticker price?

Would a dealer bite on ED invoice pricing? because when I build my M3 using ED wholesale and US invoice prices on the options my total comes out to be $54,640. Has anyone gotten that kind of deal?
