Rear subframe reinforcement for rear coilover?
Hey guys
I have searched here and also google about E9X M3 rear subframe reinforcement for rear coilover and so far have not come up with any suggestions. Previous generation M cars have weak subframe and need reinforcement even if you are not running coilover. Did BMW finally addres this issue with E9X M3? From what I can see on my Lime Rock the rear spring sit right next to the shock and the force exert on the rear frame is at the suspension assembly and not the frame directly. Maybe the rear shock tower need reinforcement to receive the coilover? Some motorsports shop recommend reinforcement of rear subframe to receive coilover shock and so does some after market full coilover manufactures E92 M3 rear suspension E46 M3 rear subframe reinforcement locations

I asked James Clay from Bimmerworld about running rear coilovers on my E92, and he said the oem upper shock area will not support it as is. You would have to modify it and beef up that area. I just went with dampers and springs.

There's not true rear coilover for our cars.
It's been done, but it's pretty rare and not worth the effort. Just stick to the usual spring and rear shock set-up. Here's one insane build. http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=887666 .

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

agree that it is just too much work to strength the rear shock mount/subframe
