Friends, heres a little update.

I think I have mentioned during my posts in this thread when I had a temporary hearing loss started around March this year, and I havent heard nothing since then. =/

We've found that my problem is that my Auditory Cortex was Damaged during in the hospital at that point.

I've been meeting many Drs which includes using machines to read my brain to help finding which is not working right. I've been there the last couple months checked twice now.

Today: I am visiting a Dr. about Stem Cells around my house. Which, I understand, that this should help healing my hearing soon. It's been very difficult during my whole year, and I barely work still and have been PMing and emailing to all of you since I cant calling.

Well, I thought some people that following this thread to understanding when during chemotherapy. As most people couldn't figure what I was posting in this thread or Any other threads. This issue is called "chemo brain". If you notice when I first started posting when I woke up from my coma. As you can tell it's still hard for me. I'm sure it'll take time still. I'm trying hard to make sense sometimes and whatnot.

Here's a link with more info and tells about it better from me talking.

I found another small bit about my hearing. I've been guessing and thinking about my hearing... It makes sense as perfectly when I thought. Check this.

Because, ive noticed I can hear some levels which I believe low bass sounds in classical music. I've been testing this myself to see if I can hear much and change the volume lower or louder.

Well... Some random sounds don't help me.. I can't listen real normal music and 0 close to hearing voice.

Voice-selective areas in human auditory cortex.

Abstract
The human voice contains in its acoustic structure a wealth of information on the speaker's identity and emotional state which we perceive with remarkable ease and accuracy. Although the perception of speaker-related features of voice plays a major role in human communication, little is known about its neural basis. Here we show, using functional magnetic resonance imaging in human volunteers, that voice-selective regions can be found bilaterally along the upper bank of the superior temporal sulcus (STS). These regions showed greater neuronal activity when subjects listened passively to vocal sounds, whether speech or non-speech, than to non-vocal environmental sounds. Central STS regions also displayed a high degree of selectivity by responding significantly more to vocal sounds than to matched control stimuli, including scrambled voices and amplitude-modulated noise. Moreover, their response to stimuli degraded by frequency filtering paralleled the subjects' behavioural performance in voice-perception tasks that used these stimuli. The voice-selective areas in the STS may represent the counterpart of the face-selective areas in human visual cortex; their existence sheds new light on the functional architecture of the human auditory cortex.

Also, as I've mentioned a few pages back this thread. I've met a researcher that invented this awesome machine and ive been tested a couple times and this last test the machine can actually show a full picture like a MRI. It's incredible. Also... I won't be able showing everyone because I'm basically part of a science test for them and they're only helping me. Later if I'm allowed giving more info. This dude is helping me better than any other neurology doctors that ive had appts.

Thank you, buddy. I'm doing much better everyday. Recently I've had my PICC IV removed about 2 weeks back, and I've totally finished my first part of my program at that point. I started back on tuesday, and in 2 years from then and then I'll be finish! This whole program is 3 years for leukemia. The first year is moving fast. I cant say that its fun at all. Its been very difficult.

Also, beside this... I'm not sure if you guys follow on twitter. I've never used it much so I'm learning about it. It seems like a quick place for small updates since I cant write a long post on the forum. I'll definitely update this forum too. My twitter account is www.twitter.com/nicodestefano

Thanks, buddy. Its been very difficult still. The worst thing still is for me losing my hearing since march. Its very hard like this. I'm sure it'll work again sometime. I really appreciate your PM. That helps a lot.

Have a good one-

I had someone ask me on another forum, so I'd paste it here since it was an interesting question. Here it is-

Quote:

I guess to gauge my point would be about 33.3% until finishing. Its hard comparing it because I've past some of the really difficult parts. This will work better-

A.R.D.S= 100%
> both are deadly anyway. I beastmastered those things. They were mostly fixed whiled I was in a COMA for 2 months this year.
MRSA= 100%

Leukemia= 33.3%
- I have about 2 years only matching for the next unless more side battles VV

Hearing Loss = 0%

Stength/Power rehab= 40%

my first trainer at the hospital stepped on my toe in march and caused an insane ingrown toenail and it wont heal, so I cant run still. If this didnt happen, then I'd move up a lot on my recovery by running.(10-20 dr. appts for painful blood removing the nail) 60% ******

You'd think this seems weak since I've had ingrown toenails years and years back and they were easy then. Its pissing me off SO BAD. I actually went to the podiatrist yesterday which probably brings the total dr. appts just for that to about 20 now. Pretty stupid?
