Akrapovic

I just got my akrapovic EVO installed. I love the sound and I really think I notice the extra juice, I don't love the tips however. Anyone got any ideas.

A few options:
- purchase Akrpovic carbon fiber tips
- powder coated tips; among other vendors, EAS or IND could probably set you up
- custom tips (IND made some custom tips for a Kreisseig system)

What don't you like about the tips? I think they are awesome looking. The titanium color is subdued which gets you out of that chrome bling thing that most ppl are getting away from by changing out the grills, gills and badges. Unless you like the highly polished chrome tips, then you should have picked a different system. You could look into the carbon tips but I think it would depend a bit on your car color and other add ons.

Threadjack question, but isn't anyone worried about the check-engine delete?

If I understand it, it removes any engine warnings from your view. Isn't this both dangerous/stupid, but also massive warranty fail?

If something ever happened with your engine, it'd be pretty hard to claim your mod didn't cause the fault (further faults I suppose) when one of your mods is deleting check engine warnings.

Is this something Akra folk just risk, or am I not getting how it works?

That's what I'm talking about. It deletes the CEL every 10 minutes or something AFAIK.

Therefore if you got an engine code for something serious you wouldn't know. Thus if you had a warranty claim they'd say if it weren't for the delete-r you would've known and now you're screwed.

Seems risky. Just wondering if people just choose to take the risk of if I don't understand the Delete-r.

It only deletes the codes for emissions, it doesn't block every code. Besides, the CEL is normaly for emissions only anyways.

Their starting to grow on me, I was just a little startled by how large they are compared to the factory ones I had. As I said before I love everything else about them. I'll stop complaining.
