It worked for me when I was swapping my bulbs out. Give it a shot just be careful not to break the cover or you can buy the small angle tool to get it off.

I left that ONE torx screw untouched, the cover was flexible enough that I just pried it away without doing any damages, and just replaced the bulbs that way.

Just make sure you push the new bulb all the way in, it'll fit very snugly, then screw everything back in.

I just installed my Osram Xenarcs and it's been approx 10 hours of use since then. Very well worth the $200!

Thanks guys. I guess I gave up too easily.

I actually installed those Osram bulbs in my wife's Z4 and will need to re-buy a set for the M3. Trouble is, it looks like the store linked earlier in this thread (The Retrofit Source) is no longer selling 5500k bulbs, only 5000k. Is there a significant difference between the two? (Don't say, "Yes, 500k." )

They're the same bulb. Osram just changed the spec on the box.

If I remember correctly, I could only remove 4 out of 5 of the torx screws, and I was able to open the cover to replace the HID bulb. I repeat, one of the screw I did not touch at all.

After my E92, I now have Osram CBI bulbs in my E38 and E60. By far the best bulbs out there as of now. A little pricy but worth it once you reach their full potential after the 20-30 hour break in period.

This technique worked on the driver's side; I left the one hard-to-reach torx in and was able to move the cover aside. On the passenger's side, I didn't have any trouble reaching any of the torx so I just removed them all. Mission accomplished. Thanks for the help.

I bought mine from Amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/Sylvania-Silve...S9WT3JF9YVGF57

For the angel eyes i used:

http://www.amazon.com/Philips-Diamon...-7&keywords=h8

I highly recommend this combination. Noticeably whiter light but it doesn't look aftermarket.

For passenger side. Straight forward.
For driver side. You need to remove the airintake box under the hood. The airintake tube block the last torx screw. Two screw to remove box. Two screw to remove clamp. Now you can access the last torx screw to remove the cover.

Ds1 CBI 5500 are pure white. Installed my 3 weeks ago. Break in period of 30 hours before they became white
