Polyurethane Replica Lips
Has anyone had any first hand experience with any of the ebay poly replica lips? I'm currently looking at these two options, and they are both under $150 so doesn't seem too bad of a risk...

I bought a ebay poly front lip for my old S2000. It was folded in half in the box it shipped in, didn't come with any mounting hardware and fitment was awful.

I had my share of poly lips for other cars and so far my experience has been bad with them. These look promising though. Anyone care to be a guinea pig?

Tried one on my evox. So lop sided and off I took it to a body shop. They laughed and threw it away. Haha

After I get my springs, I'll probably try the H-style and see how that works out. Any misalignments will probably be less noticable because of the way it attaches underneath.

I bought the V-style one. It was somewhat folded and didn't fit at all. By heating it up (that was the seller's "solution" to the issue), I was able to make it fit well but the surface was still wavy.
The biggest issue was that there was no way to attach it. The other may be a better bet. it looks easy to mount.

So i figured i didnt need $200, thought i'd be a guinea pig and bought the kit from ebay with the front V-style lip and rear diffuser lol from this vendor.
I am def expecting some fitment issues but hopefully after heating it up it looks acceptable. I'm just going to paint it gloss black to keep things simple. M3PO - curious what you meant by it being wavy? Does it look bad? |

so i got the lip and diffuser in. They were fairly well packed - can post pics later.
The lip - i now see what M3PO meant by it being wavy. The lip is flimsy and looks like it will need some TLC to make it fit correctly. Hopefully my bodyshop guy can make it work and doesnt just throw it away. The Diffuser - I was actually very impressed. The part is nice and solid, not flimsy, and fits well. Once its painted and put on i think it will look pretty damn good. If not - i just blew 200 bucks. lol oh well |

Worst fitting sad excuse for a molded lip I have ever witnessed in my life..... I could cut a better fitting lip out of a pepboys universal body kit with a pair of children's scissors

I bought the hanmann rep h style lip, fitment was great biesides the side fins needed to he sanded because it was hitting the bumper, plus it comes with no predrilled holes or hardware, but i never been happier since my car being so low it gets beat up and mever cracked or anything

Just had mine painted and installed. Ebay product from Xcess motors. I do reccomend. Cost me about $300 for both front and back. For the money, I couldn't be happier. No mouting hardware included, but God Bless automotive double sided tape!!!
Fitment was OK. My body shop had to make small adjustments. I'm very happy with the final result. http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1004437 Last edited by markymarc1979; 06-29-2014 at 03:41 PM.. |

I tried both the V and H.
h was impossible to keep mounted. V wasn't that bad. Don't expect perfection but all I had to do was heat it on the bumper and drill a few holes. Didn't use tape. |
