Great post-gives a great perspective on a great program. Now, the only question is Euro delivery or this.

Why not do both European Delivery and BMW Performance Center Delivery for your Stateside pickup and the Final treat is driving it home

Me? I haven't been dead/gone...just hanging out in other forums since I sold my e92 M3 back last spring 2011. Since then got an X6 35iDrive which was nice and an 06 Z4M which was better but both are now gone. Traded my M3 for an A7 which was nice but just not sporty enough...too luxury sports for me (maybe an S7 or RS7) after having the M3..so I am now back in he fold with a 2012 F10 550i w/M Sports package! Wanted to get the F10 M5 but there were limited supply available last Aug and I really didn't want to hit that price point for the M5...BMW and Porsche must think the recession is REALLY over with what the are charging for the M5/M6 and those nice Grand Coupe variants! Geez

What about you? Still in the Space Gray 09 M3? Still doing the Skyline drives? Cars & Coffee's at Tysons? Best regards back..Rob

You take delivery of the vehicle at PC and drive it home. If you decide that you want the car shipped to your dealer or somewhere else instead of driving it home that is on you the buyer to pay for and is not a free option from BMW.

I have never seen anyone do this before in the past, however if they did they would be responsible for organizing the transit and paying for it.

^ thats what i thought... although it doesn't make sense why they don't let people do this as the car is still coming from overseas. so instead of it going to SC, why can't they send it to the dealership like they normally would?

only reason i asked is because i met a guy with a classic e39 m5 and when he bought his car long ago, he did pcd and he had the option to ship car to dealership. so he went to SC did the program, flew home, and picked up his car at the dealer next day.

Per the BMW website, it can be done. Roughly 1/3 down on the FAQ section http://www.bmwusa.com/Standard/Conte...CenterFAQ.aspx.

Only shipment to the original selling dealer with added cost.

Not exactly. That does NOT mean it cannot be done! Did the Performance delivery of my e92 M3 back in 2009 and I remember one of the guys pickin up his M did NOT drive it home. BMW will allow you to pickup at the PDC and take the tour and drive the car at the track however you DO have to ship it back to your dealership and they can help arrange that at your expense. What I saw done was he drove the car around Spartanburg/Greenville for the weekend after his PDC then dropped it off at the local dealer who then shipped it covered to CA where he was from. Just ask...lots of time BMW-NA will make these things happen if you do. Customer service vs dealership who often act like they don't even know the PDC exists at times nor any of the rules depending on who you talk to. GL!
