There is something that mimics a CDV, although it doesn't look like it has a restriction (like the CDV's from the E46's).

I felt a difference when I had it removed.

I was under the impression our 6MT trannies were Getrag indeed . At any rate, ZF is rated better, making even less sense if true .

OP, use 2 fingers to shift from 3rd to 4th and don't pull the clutch out too soon; it's the easiest shift. If you still have a problem, then it's going to be your tranny for sure. But that doesn't mean you were not at fault; as said, you can basically grind the synchro to an early death without proper clutch action. Good luck.

Does everyone that removes this non restricting valve bleed their clutch line afterwards?

Leozap, the way you described your test, it's like you're going 40 to 50 mph, you push the clutch all the way in, wait a second or so and then try to shift fast from 3d to 4th. If that's what you're doing, you're probably letting the revs drop too much and then shifting, that'll stress the syncros and make the shift hard.

What happens if you're accelerating in the 40 to 50 range and quickly shift right as you deprss the clutch fully? There should be no problem. That shift is extremely fast in my '09 M3.
