It's a pretty reasonable thought. The same thing has happened to the previous generations of M3 (They switched the tail lights but not the front end). Changing the design of the front end is a lot of work, money and time.

"burning the stock of parts they have" makes less sense, specially considering that they will always have to stock parts for older cars.

Also, maybe they just want to keep the same "character" of the model throughout the production.

Listen i got angle eye brights. Enjoy my review right here.

They look AMAZING when your parked. But when you driving only one of the rings light up it looks like. An if you look at it from certain angles its kinds hard to see one of the other rings. but its still a nice upgrade over stock

A slight tint on the front headlights from headlightarmor.com solved the problem. They look Awesome night and day and I no longer get flashed at night. The tint was just enough to cut the blur. The Angel eyes are now defined white rings like the non M's. You cant even tell theyre tinted.
ur always a great help.. like a mod king.. thank u very much

Simply put, the AiBs are considered the M3 of aftermarket Angel Eyes.
no offense Tom but i think this picture is more accurate representation of the LCI Halos.
Here is the same women driving same car from official BMW photo:

I've seen most aftermarket mods and I have yet to see any parts that can come close to LCI quality. Most are either too bright and bleed in the inner halo (HIDs) or too dim in outer halos when seen in angles. only when you are crouching and staring directly at it (i.e. parking lot) you see the fully lit halo.

Alpine, weisslicht, AIB and P v2 may be good alternatives, but for price north of 300 I would rather keep my halogen till next generation products come along..

I haven't seen the AiBs in person but I'm pretty certain they don't look close to the LCI angel eyes. The LCI lights are a bit purple/blue-ish and do not dim during Xenon operation.

They're also full-LED and not fiber cable unevenly distributing light to two rings from one bulb.

I would love to see these damn AiBs in person since I'm not a big fan of my GPThunders. Also have heard of a few issues from members here, halos dying, etc. I know EAS does a good job at taking care of said problems but I'm curious why a bunch of AiB products have been acting up.

If I'm paying $300 for a lightbulb, I expect it to work perfectly and all the time without any hiccups.

We're located in Anaheim where the 91 and 55 freeways meet - you're welcome to drop by anytime and see them in person.

No, not as bad as I had thought. New rear quarter panel, new side skirt, and about $5k in suspension work (plus new rim + tire).

Still utterly annoying though but shit happens.

I've been busy and haven't been able to pick up her yet, she's been ready for a few days now.

I had the lead BMW shop foreman do a complete safety check, laser alignment, sonar and all that other stuff they do before they release it to me - he said "I can't even tell it was repaired."

So good news!

Hopefully I have time to pick her up today or tomorrow

I've only seen Alpine Angel eyes in person and I can say that if you are comparing brightness, the Alpine angel eyes will exceed LCI/5 series angel eyes in that department. They are FREAKING BRIGHT.

But in all fairness, the OEM BMW stuff is LED where the Alpine equipment is HID.

Damn...I really like the "pure white" look but part of me really doesn't want to dive into the ol' girl and potentially mess something up. Fml....

NavyPat, the LED angel eyes was by far my easiest cosmetic mod yet. 15 minutes, no sweating, no worrying, just simply reap the rewards! Looks awesome on our SSII sedans. I'm also in the process of doing my LED interior to complete the clean white look when you press the unlock button from afar, matching the handle lights, puddle lights in the doors, rear plate lights - everything. Looks amazing.

you guys are lucky in the states. here in sa i found out that if i changed to led, then bmw wont cover me for my warranties relating to any electronics / or lighting problems if i pick up later. they are so full of shit, if you change from run flats to norm tyres they cancell your motorplan for all suspension or wheel problems. those aftermarket leds look great i wish i could change them.
