Does your M3 have a tinted windshield?

I bought my 2009 M3 sedan used, and I was very surprised to find out that the front windshield does not have tint at the top near the roofline. Is this a replacement windshield, or does it come that way from BMW?

I also noticed that my exhaust only comes out of the 2 inside tips...the 2 outer tips are blocked at the back of the mufflers. Is that normal too?

09 E90 here...no tint strip. My 06 E90 330i did have the tint strip. Both Pilkington windshields.

There have been threads discussing this; it seems BMW has largely done away with the tint strip (maybe another cost saving measure).

The E92 and 93's always have the tint strip (eyebrow). BMW did away with it on the E90 and 91 some time during the 09 model year. They get to save 25 cents a windshield.

But don't feel bad, hardly any vehicles (including Maybach) have the tint strip anymore. At least Porsche seems to still be using it on every vehicle they sell. And I think even most Cadillacs have it.

To me, it just cheapens the look of any vehicle when its missing the tint strip.
But that's one of my pet peeves on vehicles.

09 Sedan here. I have a tint strip. As a matter of fact, my OEM replacement windshield also came with a tint strip.

you have a climate comfort windscreen.

it can be ordered with the vehicle as as option.
you have extreme summers it will help keep the car cooler.
the climate comfort windsreen does not come with the strip.

Not in the U.S. What we have now in many of the U.S. cars (mainly E90s if the above post is correct) is just the normal windshield with no tint strip.
