Pull Over!!! (kinda long)
Got pulled over last night.... as watching the Lakers (oh yea!!) we had a couple of beers (keep in mind I just turned 20). I live across the freway from my friend. After the game I was giving another friend a ride home that lives 2 blocks away in my direction. As I wait to make a left on the main road (4 lanes) a K-9 unit is approaching from the left. I let him pass, immediately after he passed I made a left and proceded to my friends to drop him off. I hit 1st gear and 2nd gear and let off to coast down to his house. I see blue and red lights behind me. (no idea where he came from it was a different cop) I look down and I'm doing 60mph in a 45mph zone. I turn on to my friends street and pull over and put my windows down.
I have -Tint -No plates on the car (had it for about 7 months) -Exhaust (no cats) -alcohol in me Cop: going a little fast? Me: Yea I didn't realized how fast I was going till you pulled me over Cop: This isn't Goleta Speedway, you we're doing 60 and you woulda kept going if I didn't stop you! Me: actually my friend lives down this street and I'm dropping him off Cop: Bullsh*t!! lemme see your license reg and insurance. Me: I really was (I handed him everything even my friends ID to show him he lives on that street) he walks back to his car for a minute and comes back Cop: how long have you had this car? Me: about 7 months Cop: where are your plates? Me: I took them off for a photoshoot this weekend and I haven't had a chance to put them back on. Cop: lemme talk to you over here I walked out and all i could think of was the beer I drank because I'm under age. Cop: do you know how many things I could write you up for?... Me: Speeding? and a fix it for the plates? Cop: Speed contest, even though there's no cars around, tint, no plates, exhaust and whatever else is under your hood... Me: the car is stock... Cop: Let's make a deal?... Me: ok Cop: put your plates on... drive normally... and next time I won't be so nice. not that I was very nice this time... the ticket is obviously not an issue, your in an M3. I just didn't want to ruin your record. Me: Deal... thank you Cop: nice car... Some cops even when tey're dicks can be pretty chill That's my good cop bad cop story. hopefully the last one! PS no ticket!

+1 on that. I have been pulled over 3 three times so far in the past 4 months for doing 50mph in 30mph, and manage to talk myself out of it every time. Just end every sentence you say with a "Sir" and let the cop that knows you recognize their "power".

I got a seatbelt ticket when I was 17, I had a messed up back. It hurt too much to turn and put it on. I wasn't even driving. and it was in my dads work truck (91 Chevy)
other than that I used to get pulled over for fix its in my impala all the time. (tail lights, turn signals, "too much smoke" ) never got the tickets just searched the sh*t out of my car... and i got one for having a passanger whith a provisional. come to think about it, it was the smae dude i was dropping off. haha. no more rides for him

Wow way to push your luck man. Personally I would have slowed down after getting pulled over the first time, let alone my 2nd and 3rd.

I really don't mean to scold you or anything, but the distance of the drive really doesn't make a difference. A guy at my school drove to the store that was walking distance from him and totaled his S2K. 5 or 6 young ghetto fucks on their bikes couldn't wait for him to drive past so he had to swerve to avoid them as they biked across the street nowhere near a sidewalk. Car rolled 3 times and he was in a coma for 4 days (it was at night and they were wearing dark clothing and hauled ass outta there after it happened, leaving him there). Just make sure you know your limit when it comes to alcohol and driving if you absolutely have to

Best policy is to be polite and honest. I've always admitted if i was speeding or what not, and almost always, they're pretty cool that you're honest and will let you go. That's been my experience and I've been driving for nearly 15 years and been pulled over more than i can count on two hands.
to the OP: You're so freakin lucky he didn't smell that alcohol on you. You don't know how much trouble you'd be in if you got caught under 21. Sure you may have friends or someone you know that has a DUI, but if you've never gone thru it yourself and have never spent a night in jail, you really can't fully comprehend what it feels like. I hope you make the right decision next time. |
