Thumping / knocking engine noise at all RPMs

I've been reading a few threads on here about clicking noises and other noises from cold start

my Sep07 car has 14.5k miles and after having a new vanos replaced (for uneven cold start idle and hunting) has developed a low frequency thumping noise that is always present and is directly linked to engine revs.

I'll try and get a sound clip up over the weekend.

I've read the technical bulletin but that states at idle and for certain accessory loads. The thumping on mine is not depenent on accessory loads and always present.

It's going back again to the dealer this Saturday.

If anyone has any advise pls post.
