826 a month for 2011 e93 - loaded

I just (well on saturday) put in my order for a 2011 Jerez Black M3 Convertible - 6MT....getting rid of the M6

Jerez Black
Fox Red
Carbon Leather
6MT
Premium Package
Technology Package
Cold Weather Package
Enhanced Premium Sound
19" wheels
iPod
SAT Radio
PDC
Smartphone integration

MSRP was 79,550
Selling Price was 75,400

This was 1k over invoice after MACO etc.. (bogus I know but no one would budge..)

I am paying 826 a month for a 36 month, 12k miles per year. 3300 cap cost reduction, 8 MSD (security deposits).

What do you think???

Could I have done much better?

I am in the NYC area

I think you did great. Even if you got it down to $500 over invoice, the savings is some $15 month, which is nothing to fret if you financially capable of leasing a M3 in the first place.

I wouldn't put down $3300 though if I were you.

Of the 3300 down I am getting 500 back from the BMW CCA (although I could use this money for anything) so I am looking at it as if I have 2800 down.

I think that there is about another 1300 in the car to their "true cost" but I understand that with the convertible and coming into the summer months this car is in high demand - and they only get a small allocation of these cars relative to the other models (or so I was told...)

I have been doing business with Paul Miller for years and they are a great place.

I placed the order Saturday and the phone tracking system says the car is already in production and will be complete on the 18th...that's faster than I thought.

You got a 66% residual value?

I don't really know what to say to that but it sounds like pure BS or maybe you live in another world... Never seen this in my 15 years of leasing cars.

How in the world is that possible?

Well, actually, it is in fact you who is living in another world - your numbers are for April not May. The residual sky-rocketed from 47% to 64% for 15k lease.

I would have gotten the coupe but decided against paying 75 dollars a month more for a 10k dollar less car. I guess the convertibles are holding their value better...

he's right... Add 2% to the residual for the convertible, due to 12,000 miles, and it is 66%. Kinda sucks for those of us who want the coupe, it's actually cheaper to lease the Convertible.

2011 BMW M3 Sedan
24 Month – Residual 59% of MSRP – .00230 Base Rate

Very possible.....sorry about your timing. If you took delivery already nothing you can do. When leasing if your taking delivery towards the end of a month it always pays to wait untill the 2nd/3rd of next month to make sure no
drastic changes. When you sign contract / credit check app - your rate is locked for I think 60 days for protection from
unfavorable increases, however you are allowed to take advantage of favorable changes.

In this case coupes went down by about 80-100 dollars a month, convertibles are down by about 250-300 dollars a month.

Anyone who has placed an order but hasn't taken delivery make sure you are getting this rate. If you have to cancel and re-order for whatever reason (at least on e93) it's well worth it.

How does it work for leasing an ED car? I'm assuming the selling price is whatever you pay (~$1k over ED invoice) but is the residual calculated off the US msrp for the car? Also, are the money factors and residuals the same as non-ED cars? Thanks

residual is calculated off US MSRP not ED pricing - this makes the deal even better for those leasing, because the effect is compounded (made even better) by the % difference between the ED selling price and MSRP. the MF is not exactly the same - a small difference, not sure what it is, but not enough to make a material difference.

Ok thanks. I just did a rough calculation using the ED numbers posted in another thread and at ~1k above ED vioce the e92 comes to $59500 with a US msrp of $67125. Using the .00181 money factor you were able to get with MSDs and a residual of 59% for a 3/36k term gave me a payment of ~$734/month before tax with 0 down. Not too bad if my calculations were correct.

Unfortunately my current lease is not up till the end of the year so that would be nice if these numbers come year end are still similar plus I'm still undecided if I want to ED or not. From my experience though BMW offers pretty aggressive programs towards the end of the year so hopefully I won't overpay too much lol.

Is the US MSRP really used to calculate a ED lease?

My understanding was that there was a separate "ED MSRP" price that leases were calculated from. It'd be great if someone could clear this up for me, thanks!

Yes...US MSRP are used even if you do BMW select or Lease thru bmw fs...IMO, Euro Deliv is the only way to go esp if you do a lease or select buy

Well...I would still recommend ED...look @ the BMW CCA rebate as paying most of your plane ticket and 1 day hotel accomodations...also, I beleive BMW picks up the 2nd payment on ED deals since the car is not here

good luck!

Is this rebate you're referring to the $500 rebate the OP mentioned?

That'd be very nice if this is true. I'd planned on going to my BMW dealer this weekend so I'm going to find out the specifics on the ED program. Thanks for the heads up.

Anything else I should be aware of? Thanks again.
