Evosport painted reflectors received and installed

Got my reflectors from Evosport today. Quality is very nice--no sign of the raised lettering.

R&R as follows:
1) Press in on the bunper cover just below the reflector with you thumb until a couple of the bottom tabs "pop" free.
2) Using the purchase you have gained, force the reflector upward hard, compressing the top springs, then rotate the bottom out and free. The reflecgtor will come out.
3) Installation is pretty much the reverse, though it is slightly harder due to the flimsiness of the cover. You will need to force the new reflector upward to compress the top springs, then rotate the bottom in.

Since you are speaking for Long, please let us know which individuals will be sent their reflectors during this first batch?

If this is becoming too much or a production, I have no problem saving Long any more grief and having my payment refunded.

Long/Fifth- Please let me know.

Thanks!

Got mine also GregW from evosport. Thanks for the tip. I installed them yesterday in the same fashion you installed yours.

Why do the directions that come with it say "Start from the top down"

Those are the old E46 instructions--they asked if they could use my photos to update them.

This is becoming amateur hour. Can you please tell Long to email or mass post when everyone will be receiving their shipment? I've never done a group buy before and now I know why.

From what I understand Long is not a manufacturer and he does not get his "painted reflectors" from a manufacturer. He custom paints each set. These OEM BMW reflectors are not as avalible as you might expect. From my understanding it takes at least 1 weeks time to get a set from BMW. Again not talking for Long but just what I have heard from dealers. Keep in mind that a order as large as this group buy isnt just painted over night.

just my .02 cents..

I agree however updates or pm's from Long would be helpful. Delays or getting the wrong products from BMW are also part of the business. I can speak for myself and say I have no problem waiting for a quality product and think the other members can too. Most of us had to wait a long time for our M3 and some are still waiting. So waiting is not the problem. I just like to know often, what stage we are at. It's kind of like looking at the OC website or calling the 800# once week to get an update. I don't think that's an unreasonable request.

My advice: go with a professional dealer.

I know Longtran means well, but this is becoming a bad joke. Supply problems, bleed through in the painting, shipping errors, delays.

Not worth it to save a few bucks, IMO.

Long-

I got my Space Gray, these are way way too dark and the spray(which is oversprayed all over the clips) did not cover the edges.

I'm not going to right out ask for a refund, but this is not Space Gray that I received.

The color and quality is much different than the Evosport painted reflectors I ordered and received last Monday (just in case yours didn't come through I ordered these too, no offense).

What's the deal with the paint bro? I dont mind paying for back up reflectors(yours) but these don't even match.

PM me if you need to.

Thanks,

Got any pics? I need to know who to buy from also. I hope Jinxster can come up with a flush mount though.

The quality of Evosport's painted reflectors were outstanding. The paint was a little soft (to be expected for such new paint) but nothing i can complain about.

thanks again Brad! (Brad had pm'd me last week and told me that he sent back some of the black reflectors because they weren't up to his quality specs- so they took an extra week to get to me - worth the wait.)

Hope everything gets resolved with this group buy - there are definite benefits with economies of scale - just unfortunate when things get a little messy.

If you're speaking to me, I'll discuss directly to Long, so if you could pass the word to your buddy that would be cool. Regarding the edges, I'm not referring to spaces, rather lack of paint on the round portions of the reflectors.

Yes, Evosports were spot on and high quality. Did you notice them when you saw my car at the gym?

Think Long tried his best, I'm sure it was just hard to do this on his own.

Thanks,

I will take some photo's of my progress today. the flush mount ones that I am working on right now are not painted, are green and they already look better then my AW painted reflectors. I will snap a shot today when I get to the shop after work. but its comming along. I have found that I will need to include touch up paint with the flush mount because BMW decided to cut the holes for the reflectors after painting the bumpers so the cut is black and can be touched up. This will be included with every purchase as well.

dont mean to highjack but sence the GB is over the shop that I work with is still selling painted OEM reflectors on ebay here is the link:
