Getting bugs off the front in between washings?

I wash the car every 1-2 weeks but with some night driving I may have a front fascia covered in bugs after 24 hours.

My detailer recommended ONR to spot clean in between washes but as I discovered last night, some of those bugs are like glue. To get them off after spraying it down with ONR and using a MF cloth I still had to rub a little bit. Like everyone here he was very much against using a QD to do the job.

Is there a product that will get the bugs off easier without stripping the wax?

Try Turtle Wax bug and tar remover. Works well and won't strip your wax.........Phil

You need a love bug sponge. It feels rough but will not damage paint at all. I use it with Poor Boys bug remover and it works amazing.

Auto Finesse citrus does the job for me and doesn't strip wax. its a great multipurpose spray to have

Stoner Tarminator works very well and you can pick some up at local auto supply stores or Walmart. It does strip paint and sealant though, but bugs come off with ease.

I use now for over 15 years nylon woman stockings... and this works, removes bugs very easy in combination with a good car shampoo

BTW... this makes no swirls, and this is no joke

Why is this a bad thing? I was planning on keeping a bottle of QD and a microfiber towel in the trunk for bugs & bird droppings.

This IS your answer right here. I've been using AF citrus power for some time now and it is simply amazing. Great cleaning ability and yes I've tested it and it doesn't strip your current protection. For some reason I highly doubt that a turtle wax bug remover won't strip your wax but I could be wrong. As to why a qd isn't a good idea is because you will induce swirling and scratches for sure. Realistically you need the whole area lubricated well along with your mf towel.

i've seen it be used on paintwork, tires, wheels, exhaust tips, door jambs, etc. if that was the aim of your question.

We in the south are king of love bug removal. The best thing to use is Bounce Dryer Sheets. The cheaper the better because the cheaper Bounce sheets have more softners in it. Try it and you'll be amazed.

More or less. It can clean virtually any surface and was designed entirely to loosen dirt and bugs from paintwork, etc. while not stripping any protection that is on the car

For example: Here was an m3 that I cleaned which was full of salt and debris from several months of neglect which made the paint look yellow. I sprayed AF cirtus on the car dry, let it dwell for about 5 minutes and simply washed it off. Turned the paint white again

By far one of my favorite products that I use. I recommend it to everyone

This. I did a write up about it. Using Swissvax brush, i sprayed AF citrus, and aggregate with the brush. Took the dead bugs out.

If you have a clear bra, you want to be careful with what bug remover you use.
- stay away fro, cleaners that have petrolium distillates as it will stain your clear bra
- use something citrus based

I probably would've picked up a fancy internet/ detail store only cleaner... But since time was a factor prior to a 6 hour road trip up central california to San Francisco... I picked up Lifter-1 bug and tar remover since it was citrus based.

When we got to SF
- I sprayed Lifter -1 bug and tar all over the front end then let it sit
- then i used Chemical Guys waterless Ecosmart wash to spray the front end
- used a microfiber cloth to whipe the front end back down
- then i used the waterless wash to wash and wax the rest of the car to get it ready to cruise the streets of San Francisco while we where there

Since then... Lifter-1 is now part of my wash kit

Also found another great use for Lifter-1 while washing the M... Its excellent at getting track day tire rubber and other things out of the clear bra as well
