How is wishing it got better MPG any different than all those who wish it had more torque, less weight etc?

I would like some fly brakes so I'm not tempted to get a BBK.

I can afford the car and afford to buy an aftermarket exhaust. Easy fix in my opinion.

Perhaps you should have asked that question to the guys who had problems with the car that are harder to fix such a weight/torque/etc etc.

Im just going to guess you are on the bottle today.

Cars with crazy low end torque, especially the American ones, are very fun for weekend drives but they are painful to drive every day and on long trips. The balance of the M3 between street functionality and track capabilities is it's greatest asset I believe.

+1 Torque and Weight

Isn't ironic? the new M3s will be in about the same range stock as tuned n54s with full bolt ons.

+1. As someone who had a supercharger on the car and now doesn't, I can confidently say the car doesn't need more power. It just needs to lose a few hundred pounds and be able to handle a full track session without brake fade. People who want a faster 0-60 or 1/4 mile just bought the wrong car.

Everything else is near perfect for me.

Exactly!!! The S65 V8 has plenty of torque and plenty of power if you drive the car the way is meant to be driven. I don't quite understand all the complaints about torque, even my AP1 S2K's torque feels fine at 153 lbs/ft at 7.5k rpms and max 9K rpms

This car is pretty much the pinacle of driving, so the only thing I would suggest is weight reduction but I would not say it is a weakness.

You can also strip weight out of the car and add a tune to bump up torque/HP. Since you're calling it "ugly" I think the body style is the hardest to fix.

Weight and fuel consumption. THAT'S IT! Handles its weight very well but would love to see it 300 lbs lighter.

I'm glad that I'm not the only person who has noted the lurching with a cold engine.

If the car was 300 pounds less I think that alone would solve the brake issue as the stock brakes for the purpose of the car are already great but knock it down to e46 weight and the stock e90 m3 brakes would do just fine.

Really the downfall (if there even can be considered one) is the missed opportunity to make this a 3250 pound car with a high strung V8. I love it how it is though!

I’ve only had my M (’09 E93 DCT) for 3 weeks, but would agree with the occassional jerkiness out of 1st when cold... is this VERY common?
