HPDE/Track events in Texas for Jan?
It may be too cold but what all if anything is scheduled for January 2012?
Assuming the Mayan got it wrong, that is...

The Driver's Edge has DE at MSRH on Jan 21. BigJae said he was going. I am planning to go to TWS - I got to get out of green. |

TDE has an event at MSR, Cresson on 3-4 Feb as well. SASCA usually has an auto-x event...2012 schedule not published yet. Apex Performance Driving is the resident school of MSR Cresson...I'd check the MSR website. Its actually not too bad this time of the year. You can drive at speed for the most part. The exception is the first morning run...as long as its not wet. My car definitely runs better since its cooler...brakes, tires, engine, everything. But I did TWS in Feb awhile back...the front straight gets especially chilly. And be sure to wear gloves.

Do the Drivers Edge guys use chatterbox com? Is it basically the same format as TWS?

I could be wrong. Last event, they had a Blue 1 and Blue 2. If they continue with that then there is more of a chance you can move up during the weekend...maybe on the first day. I haven't noticed anyone moving out of green on the first day though. Usually happens on the 2nd day. If you want to work on getting solo qualified or something along that line, I would stick with TWS. Moving to a different organization is like starting over. If you just want to get on the track and improve on your skills, I'd do it! I'm all about getting solo q'd which is why I'm sticking with TDE.

I'll be this guy
All joking aside I don't know if I really want to run in green again... Green was fun and all but MSRH doesn't have a ton of 'safe' passing room so it could make for a slow day. I my Pagids just arrived so I'm going to go home and put those on tonight!

I can't blame you, unfortunately, I probably will not get back out on track until February. I have to do some maintenance to the E36 before I put it on track, now that the M Coupe is gone.

The cancellation policy with TDE seems pretty rigid.. I don't know how safe it would be to run green group in the rain so I'd like the option to cancel a week out if it's going to flood that day. Quote:
I lost on of my t/crack hit days at TWS due to my pads being used up so I'm looking forward to getting back out there!

When dating the wife had an E36 M3, and I had an E39 M5, then I picked up the Coupe, and she picked up an E30 M3 (we were old school, new school). Fast forward to about this time last year, and she began DD the M5 for the heated seats and I was using the Coupe. Once it warned back up she never gave back the M5 D'oh. So I just sold the coupe, I'm driving the E36, and I'm planning on getting an E92 M3 in the spring.
The E36 may need a new clutch soon, I need to flush the brake fluid, do an oil change and straighten up (zip tie) some undertray plastic. This is the E36, with me chasing her down at TWS last year And the full stable before the Coup went away.

The thing I like about TDE is that they run at different tracks. Rick, the owner of TDE, has mentioned that he really wants to run on the F1 track but who knows at this point. There used to be a night event at Texas Motorspeedway but some new track restrictions nixed that. Right now, they are looking to do something once or twice a year besides the normal 2 day HPDE...not sure what it will be. I will tell you that the classes in Green with TDE are much better...at least more detailed. So even if the track time isn't the best, you'll get some benefit from the classes.
