E46 M3 + S62 race/track build

I didn't think my E46 M3 race/track car had the power and sound that it deserved so bought a S62 to shoe horn into the car! And yes we are going to do this and it will happen. I won't say it will be easy but we have all the parts and pieces bought and figured out. The engine should be mocked up in the car later this week.

**Edit**

I want to give a big thank you to Eddie Nakato of A R Auto Service / Adrenaline Racing as the co-owner and builder of the car. I always felt very fortune to drive this car even with the S54 but now....Wow it should be great.

Custom engine mounts
Custom trans mounts
Dry Sump
Motec M800 We got a killer deal on a used unit that had all the features we wanted unlocked. Retail new would have been $9500.
Custom wiring and harness
Custom headers and exhaust
We will leave the engine stockish with refresh of rod bearings and bolts.

Here is a picture of the S62 as it came off the truck (We had snow so a little messy). The second picture is of the engine stripped down a bit.

I have a quote from Bill Auberlen regarding the e46 GTR (I hope he doesnt mind) "probably one of the best GT cars ever. Way ahead of its time"
That did it for me....I had to do it!

Awesome! On the west coast too - hope to see it in person. Take good notes and share your learnings, this is something I'm interested in doing in the future

We plan to be down to Thunderhill and Miller this year. Love T-hill and can't wait to drive the new and full 5 mile course when it is complete!

I'm in Portland. When will it be operational and at PIR? Dying to see it running.

NASA GTS-4 and TT2. It will also be driven in the SCCA Rose Cup race at PIR June 13-15. Both Eddie Nakato and I will be driving at different times.

Honestly I hope your new gearing and continued weight reduction keep you in contact as we had a great time playing cat and mouse this past year!

I made a little edit to the original post thanking the builder and adding some details about the build.

Heres a picture of the very expensive Motec M800. It retails for ~$9500 with the features unlocked. We found it used for a fraction of that.
