leaky e93 roof

Has anyone experienced a leaky e93 roof when going through an auto car wash? My roof leaks where the convertible top connects with the windshield frame. It only leaks when I am going through an automatic car wash. Does anyone have any solutions/tips to stop the leak?

OMG, you take it through an automatic wash?!?! I guess the first smartass tip would be not to go through auto car washes ;^)

But as to your question, I haven't had any leaks at all in my roof seals. Have you conditioned them ever so they are flexible? I had to just to stop wind noise.

haha, I typically don't in the summer, but when its 20 degrees hand washing gets a little chilly .

I just picked up the car in November, so I have not. I will check the seals. What do you use to condition them?

BMW has a product for them and the Germans have gummipflug (don't quote my spelling on that), but really you can use any window seal type conditioner or soft rubber conditioner.

Go Pack!

Use Krytox. BMW stopped making the "good shit" years ago. The new stuff is just talc in a water-based carrier.

There is a DIY over at bimmerfest regarding the seals.

Prior to my M I had a 335is Cab. Front seal is known issue with E93's. In fact last time I had in the dealer for warranty seal replacement Germany was out of the part due to so many failures. Gummi pflege and Krytox will only go so far. Trust me I know.
