Changing the DCT Fluid Question

5. Ensure that M-DCT fluid inside the transmission is below 90 deg. F. Then, close the filling hole.

6. Turn on your engine. In position P, maintain 2000 rpm for about 1 minute.

7. Reopen the filling hole and add additional fluid (about 2 quarts) until fluid starts to leak out from the hole again. This process must be completed while the transmission fluid temperature is below 104 deg. F.

This was taken from the DIY on Changing the DCT fluid. After you run the car at 2k RPM for 1 minute, do you turn off the car and then continue to fill or do you fill with the engine running?

On page 2 of SI B28 03 08 it says "open the filler plug again (with the engine running)"

Thought I better explain why:

The internal hydraulic pump runs whenever the engine is running, this changes the level in the sump (lower part of the transmission). When the engine is turned off there will be drain back into the transmission raising the fluid level higher than normal running level.

This happens also in automatic transmissions that often require a running level check.
