My baby is injured :(

While paying for my drinks inside a 7 eleven, I saw a car pulling back out on the driver’s side of my parked car and thought “he’s really close to my car he could actually hit it....”
As I approach my vehicle, a woman ran toward me and asked if it was my car because that guy hit it. Her and two other women who saw what happened helped me flagged him down as he re parked his vehicle around the corner. It was a high school kid who had no idea what he did or what to do.
His parents insurance (usaa) is taking full responsibility and paying for the repairs. Any guest how much work/cost it will be?

It doesnt look too bad. They're gonna have to blend the rear quarter panel and rear bumper. My guess is atleast $500

Luckily it's not too bad. Unfortunately, it involves a lot of painting.

I'm going to guess 1,200, and that's repairing instead of replacing the wheel.

I had similar damage but opposite side, bumper scrape on one side and wheel well on the other. BMW certified body shop did both for just over $1,200. Roughly $625 to repair the wheel well and $600 to respray the bumper. My wheel well also had a slight dent so with your looking like a repaint only it might be cheaper...

Why do you want to know how much it will be to repair if you are not paying for it?

*Edit: Nevermind. It looks like you are probably more interested in how long the repair will take and what the process will be.

USAA is good insurance, so hopefully you won't have any trouble with them.

That sucks. My son is a senior in high school and recently bumped a car while parking. He did the right thing and went to the principal. Cost me $950 but nice to know I raised him right. Now to work on his parking...

Could have been worse. Glad you were able to stop the kid.

quarter and bumper will be painted.

Generally an easy repair, shouldn't exceed 2k.

Thanks to all for the well wishes. I'm taking the car in to get the estimate tomorrow. I wasn't as concern about the cost (since I'm not paying for it) as much as how long it will take to get repaired. Oh well, it could have been worst. From now on I will only park in corner spots furthest away from everybody.

In terms of time, I dropped my car off on a Monday morning and had it back on Thursday.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. Unfortunately parking far away doesn't quite alleviate this sort of issue. I've parked at the furthest possible spot only to find my car seriously damaged by hit and run drivers on two occasions.

Other people often have the same idea, even those who can't park. They'll park right next to your distantly parked car to keep someone else from doing what they themselves are about to do to you.
