Favorite car for ~$100k
Just curious what would you guys choose around the $100k range??
AUDI R8 BMW M6 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR Porsche 911 GT3 I think out of these, I'd take the ACR or the ZR1. |

List prices or real world prices?
R8's are being listed in the $140-170k range on Autotrader as new or slightly used cars, and you can't find a GT3 for any less than $125,000 on Autotrader unless you start looking at 2004's or earlier. The ZR1 is retailing for $100k even, but I doubt you'll see one at that price due to premiums similar to the R8. I wouldn't spend the $100k on the Dodge because it will most likely be worth $65k when you drove it off the showroom floor Call my cynical, but I don't think there are many "good options" in the $100k range unless you remove all market variables. I think the $110-130k range has a lot more to offer, especially in the pre-owned market. |

ZR1 sounds pretty amazing on paper, but at the end of the day you would still wish you had the GT3. Porshe just does something right when it comes to overall feel, experience, engine sound, and track-ability of the car. Plus the interior of the porsche doesn't feel like you're sitting in a cheap rental car.
GT3 hands down from this list.

Although I am big BMW fan, the R8 is just awesome looking, agree that from performance POV the ZR1 or GT3 are better, however since they are less unique (Most people won't know that it cost 2x or more the regular cars which they are based on) they where not my choice.

To me thats half the fun. I dont buy my cars based on how much other people think it cost. You cant forget the look of some guys face in a 250,000 Ferrari after being smoked by a Vette. Absolutley priceless. And this was in a C4 ZR-1. |

haha, sorry about the confusion.. I guess in the ~$100k list price? Mainly I was just looking for opts. on the R8, ZR1 and Viper ACR. My favorite cars are the GT2 and the DBS.. but those are $200k+

Can't wait to see the ZR1 and the Viper ACR on the track, back to back, I have a feeling the ZR1 will perform better.. that supercharger should sound mean, I just wished that they would have made it more unique.. almost looks like a normal Z06. where as the Viper ACR looks like a totally new beast!
