If its mod for mod then the displacement advantage of the C63 is too much to overcome. The AMG has about 40% more engine displacement. But only about 10% more weight. If you limited it to tune..high octane fuel...and DRs....the 335i would be a better challenge. A 335I is capable of 11second qtr miles with those minor mods. If they somehow allowed the installation of forced induction on the AMG....its displacement advantage would be amplified even further over a FI M3

We need to do this on a real road course not some cones in a parking lot. The M3 can't win the 2 straight line contests.

You mean massive body roll, a steering system that is not connected to the front wheels, and the engine note played through the speaker system?!?!?!?!

Can I run my 135i or is it just the m3 that can compete?

Even with a tune on your N54, if that C63 is the slightest bit modified with an ok driver, you will get pummeled. No offense. BMWs aren't suited for straight lines

If the cars are supposed to have similar modifications like stated above, I doubt an N54 has a chance.

BTW, the more I think about this the more I realize this shouldn't be a 1 on 1 challange but perhaps a 3 on 3 or 5 on 5. An average of 3 or 5 different cars on each side would be a better picture of which car is better. I'm game either way.

Let's just do this straight time comparison and give us the total of two autocross runs. The quickest (lowest) additive time of one 1/4 mile, one 0-100-0, and 2 autocross runs wins. I'd still prefer a road course to a auto-x. That's where the M3 will shine.

+1

A properly modded N54 (all the essentials) will give the C63 something to think about.

you have my vote. ForumWars needs to post what mods are allowed for each car.

But, looking at the post on BenzWorld it might be a forfeit in our favor, they don't have much activity in their thread.

I think I would have a shot. Mine has run as low as a 12.03 @ 118.5 (on runflats) and I could have gone 1.5psi more. If I had cut a better 60' I would have been well into the 11's (only a 1.9).

I sent in my letter and we will see what happens

I switch my vote to this guy. With some real sticky tires, an 11 second M3 will be a force to be reckoned with.

Its actually a 135i lol

Also looked up the quarter mile time for the c63: Car and driver had it at 12.3 @116mph and most are seeing 12.5-12.7 @ 113-114 so if its stock I may have to de-tune to make it fair.

On the track if his suspension is stock, and I dont get lost on course, then that is a win there.

If all went as planned then there would be no 3rd round which I think I would win anyway with the 135i's 6-piston brakes.
