The Bible, like any other religious text, can really be of value, or of detriment, depending on how it's interpreted, and practiced.

Ghandi once said, "I like your Christ. I do not like your Christians." Ghandi himself was not a Christian but read the Bible himself, and understood the theology and respected it, even if he didn't accept it fully for himself.
