Vredestein contingency

For those of you who are not local to a Vredestein dealer, what are your contingencies? I must have run over an area that previously had an accident and picked up a piece of an aluminum rim. I have a plug in the tire now and have been told it will slowly leak. So far it hasn't, but I would not trust it to last very long. I ordered a new tire from groupawheels.com and it probably won't be here till next week. Right now I have requested a quote for some Alufelgen rims. I might as well have a spare set of tires in case something else happens. If I ran 9.5" rims front and back, does anyone think a 275/35/19 square setup will work?

Not sure about the offsets, but I bought a set of square 275/40/18 front/rear setup wheels from my friend. He won them at Mfest and sold them to me.

I used them temporarily for daily driving because I hit a pothole while driving on my BBS, which bent the wheel and blew apart the sidewall on my Invos. Good news? They didn't rub. They are cutting it unbelievably close though, so I think it all comes down to the offsets.

Hope this helps some. I'll figure out the offsets on the wheels eventually.

Usually nail/screw holes plug/patch well. I don't know about cuts. It would be ok for a while if you had a combo patch plug installed from inside the tire.

275's on the front will depend on your wheel width and offset. RAC RG63's (9"x19" Et 22) barely clear (rub a little on some cars) with 255/35's.

High performance tires are often a risk as far as having replacements available when you need them.

RG63s barely rub with my 275/30 fronts (and that is with AD08s, which have a very pronounced shoulder.)

OP, depending on offset you might be able to make it work with stock ride height and max neg camber.

Can I see some pictures of your wheel and tire combo?

If you lower your car you will have issues with 275-30-19 on front! I have 19x9 ET 20 BBS CHR's and i tried this combo it wont' work if you wanna drive your ///M like it was meant for

noobie question, does sq setup mess up DSC or the E-diff in anyway?

also how would sq setup mess with understeer? i would think u'd get more understeer?

Square setup will reduce understeer holding everything else constant. No DSC issues.

A proper "plug and patch" tyre repair should last the life of the tyre if done correctly by an approved repairer.
