Air Conditioning problem ?

It was a cold and foggy morning. I had the Climate control set to 72 Auto.
Air came on by itself, on Max and 60 with full speed fan.
I did not accidently touch anything to make this happen,as both
hands were on the wheel.
This only happened one time, and has not happened again since.
Has Anyone heard of or had this happen to Their car ?

I'm confused: you said you had the car in 'auto 72', then that 'air came on by itself'. If you have the car is 'auto 72', system is already turned on .
Are you saying it went from 72 to 60? That'd obviously turn fan to full blast, so the issue is the temperature change. Did this happen when you first start the car or while under way? If the former, did you use the same key as always? Remember each key stores its own settings. Give us more details. But it looks like another weird electronic gremlin many of us have experienced just once. I've had 4 myself (all settings erased; momentary speaker blast; bluetooth error; no sound in speakers), but not that. Not surprised though. If it doesn't happen again, I wouldn't worry about it. Good day.

do you have a "star" button on your steering wheel or a button that looks like a radio? If it's the star, it's programmable and that could be the setting

Yes it went from 72 to 60 all by itself
I was under way, had been on the road over an hour when it happened.

the button is on the wheel, and if you put enough pressure on certain areas, you can unintentionally press the button without actually pressing the button
