not sold on the visual design...but the mechanical aspect seems sweet

It doesn't evoke the same emotions as the F1 did. No where near as close.

The design seems alright. I like the front, not diggin the sides, and the rear seems kind of good.

I can't help but think this would be like some made up supercar in grand theft auto though.

Nice interior and the technology in this thing is great, but it's nothing special to look at...it's not ugly but for that kinda price I want it to be special

The car is not suppose to be, it's suppose to be going up against the lower tier exotics like the Gallardo .

Op, in the future, try to attach some pics in your thread. The page looks bland without them

About the car, the design is not good. I think we were expecting alot better but alas, it didnt happen. The front looks the best but the side and back are just not pleasing.

But the car makes up for it with all the advanced mechanical specs. It's just too good on paper.
We are talking about a twin turbo 3.8 V8 grossing 600hp, 433lb-ft torque. And lowest CO2 rating for a 600hp+ car. Low weight, Carbon fiber tub, 7 speed dsg......You name it, it has it.

Where it lacks in the design, it makes up in the specs

I think the reason we all think it looks bland and uneventful is because when the F1 came out it looked crazy in design. In modern days, this new Maclaren wont stand out from other supercars. However, I actually like the car design a lot because it looks fresh and modern but still looks like the old F1.

Performance...wow.

that being said, the pics IMO looks like a stretched Mitsubishi Eclipse.

The video from Dupont Registry with Jay Leno looking at it are hilarious. You can tell he's not digging the cars design, but trying to sell it at the same time. Awful looking car with a terrible logo to boot.

And to play off the Eclipse comparison, I think its a touch of that and whole lot of R8 influence.

To me, they both look very much alike in the front. The 458 looks a bit better, but still, too much alike.

It will look better in person I am sure. Most of these wind tunnel designs don't photograph well, and they look better in person...not classically beautiful but better in person.

I would be more concerned about the bespoke engine.
