Gun in your Car?

For those that live in states were possession of a firearm is legal, do you have a firearm in your car?

If so what kind?

Where did you place? (in center console, tapped to dash, under seat etc.)

Please exercise your Fifth Amendment rights if you live in a state where possession of a hand gun is legal, or you are not lawfully allowed to be in possession of a firearm because of lack of license and/or prior felonies

Don't have any of mine in the car because I live in CA, so its pretty much pointless, plus all I have are large rifles lol. I've got an M1 Garand, M1 Carbine, Springfield Model 1903, and then a couple of .22 L/R's. I'm in the market for an HK USP .45, and I'd like to get my hands on a SA Model 1911 GI .45, and a Sig 220 or 250.

Nice gun, I have a Colt 1911A1 it is amazing. One thing that happens though is if you dont squeeze the grip tight enough the gun will jam because of safety at butt of grip

When i say Jam i dont mean wont fire cause of safety, I mean the round fires but the shell doesnt eject probably cause I wasnt holding it tight enough

I have an AR-15 and a Glock 17.

The Glock's usually on me though when I'm carrying, don't really store guns in the car.

Isn't california gun law like your firearm must be locked in a container in your trunk? How useful is that going to be lol..

Doesn't have to be in a container if I remember correctly, just be in the trunk or whatever and the ammo has to be separate or something. CA gun laws are stupid, if you read the literature, assault rifles are banned because they essentially look scary and intimidating. There is no law against caliber of weapon, but heaven forbid it have a pistol grip!

I wish I could carry a gun in my car here in MD. We are in a high crime state yet have some of the strictest gun laws.

Your talking about "limp-wristing", and yes alot of .45's need to be held firmly otherwise you will get FTE's (Faliure to Eject).

Think about it. High crime rate. Most crimes are performed with a gun. see where I'm going?

If a criminal is caught with a gun the prosecution then has 1 more law they can tack on to the list if charges thus keeping the criminal locked up for maybe a month longer

Yeah, but all the thugs carry guns on them 24/7. Us honest guys that would like to protect our families and homes cant carry guns. Its ridiculous.

Indeed, car jacking (meaning gun to face "get out of car") and home "Robberies" (not Burglary) are pretty low in Florida, why?

Because thugs know that if they are going to break into a house they better be certain no one is home; because they know 1 out of 4 chance the owner will have a gone and they will be shot.

Same with a car, there is always that risk that the car owner can shoot you. (less of a risk than house tho)

Thats why im moving to WV as soon as I can. They leave their keys in the car over night and nobody steals the car. Either the police needs to protect us, or we need to protect ourselves. However in MD the police dont do anything, and we arent allowed to help ourselves.
