Question Help - New Varis diffuser owner has ?????

Hey guys,

Just bought the VRS diffuser system and it appears that the carbon is left with only the gel coat (no clear coat). How many of you guys have had yours cleared?

My main concern is that it would yellow overtime without the UV blocking that a clear coat provides.

Thanks in advance

probably cost you a few hundred to just have a clear shot....drop in the bucket for what you paid for it...and then you dont have to worry about it

This is likely a stupid idea, but what about just using opti-coat?

With any JDM parts I've had over the years, I have had NONE yellow on me. I had a spoon lip, j's canards, etc.

And yes, I have a Varis diffuser and the Varis canards setup, all I do is put wax on it and call it a day. If you're wondering, I live in a place where UV is part of life 365 days a year (Hawaii). I wouldn't worry about it

+ 3 on getting a good shop to clear coat it. It'll cost maybe $200?

I would not be concerned about it. Most quality made carbon parts will not yellow if they used a good gel coat that is UV stable

You're making me want to go wax mine. haha. Must be hard to wax all the way back towards the diff area? Being how low the car is and how far you have to reach?

It's hard to reach all the way to the back, so before I installed it, I put on a paint sealer (auto finesse tough coat) and when I wash the car I just try my best to wax it. So far it's holding up haha
