Thumbs up Goodbye M3. Hello...

… M3 again! :roflmao:

Right it's time to update you guys whether you like it or not.

A few weeks back, I was searching for some tires as the rears were running a
tad low that I was worried it might not pass the MOT.

The next thing I know, I was on Autotrader looking at M3s , even though
I've got one already! I just kept on looking daily even after getting my Silverstone 10 months ago.

Reason being...
  • mine was aging a little 7 years old
  • tyres need doing
  • rear brakes need doing
  • fluid needs doing
  • 54k miles
  • no CIC iDrive
  • not Alpine White
  • little rattle here and there
Still drove absolutely fine to be honest but that's my man (boy) reasoning.

And behold just the perfect one came up at the perfect time!
And it was literally on my way to work. So i don't have to travel across the
country to see if I liked it or not. Straight on the phone. And went to see it the
next morning.

This was the first time seeing her in the show room.

So what's so different?
  • colour
  • DCT
  • 15k on the clock
  • CIC iDrive
  • Dimming exterior mirrors
  • 12V power socket in boot
  • 18" rare OEM rims
  • new michelin pilotsports (which tried to kill me)
  • boot tie down strap net thing
  • stereo audio (****!)
I love driving manual, really did. But getting stuck in traffic with it in manual
isn't really that fun. The heel and toe stuff is great, but not in traffic. That sucked.

2 owners, one being BMW. Full service etc. I just can't let this one go.
So after a week or so everything was done and here is the final view of the old girl.

So there. My 2nd M3! Can't say I don't love it. Everything is stock so far.
Half of me wants to mod it but the other half I want to protect it embrace the
stock'ness at the moment. So I will leave it alone for a while. eace:

So there, another new chapter with the new M3 in the family.

Oh I got my iPhone and my model M3 in white cause I always wanted the AW M3.
Now finally after years of waiting, all has finally come together. Success!

Here are some more images…

Very nice. I was thinking about trading in my 2011 to buy a 2013 but I prefer Sedan bodies for some odd reason.

I like the practicality but no way can I give up the looks of a coupe

Also the the age of this one is perfect for me for such low mileage cause
a) the car itself isn't too much
b) road tax in the UK doubles right after April 2010. So I need to pay £490 per year instead of the new rate of £1,055 which is $1693 / per year in road tax.

Congrats ...very nice car, looks good ,the only thing she needs is the LCI taillights .
About the taxes, ohhh man i know everything about this sh@t !
Here in Belgium(the tax land) we have....
1- First time in trafic tax = 5,000 Euros > $6,735 USD + 2,000 Euros yearly driver tax >$2,695 USD !
So...7,000 Euros > $ 9,430 USD the first year, before you can put her on the road !
2- And like i said..just paid again one month ago $2,695 USD yearly driver tax !
And i can count....when i keep this car 10 years...than i have paid 27,000 Euros of taxes > $ 36,371 USD !
Can you believe this sh@t in this f@cking BS country !!!
It's better that i try to calm down...but i think , this numbers are...
Anyway THX for sharing man ...

Wow. I thought our tax system was insane. :O

So yeah, that's why this one was so perfect. Showed up in the right time
with all the bits and age that I wanted

Love it to bits

My wheels? Or the ZCP wheels?

Just a quick note on the 18s while I'm at it.

I like the 19s but somehow don't mind the 18s either and been on a 6:40 hour trip today and my god they're comfortable compared to the OEM 19s.

Silky smooth ride. Sooo nice.

Torn between comfort and looks.

Thanks

Holy shit. I didn't read properly!

First road tax is £1,065.00 and afterwards it goes back to £490!
Fucking hell! How did I miss that?!? I should of brought a newer car (maybe)...

Quote:
First year rates - cars registered on or after 1 April 2010
These rates are for a vehicle’s first tax disc when it’s first registered.

All tax discs after that are charged at the rates shown in the ‘Cars registered on or after 1 March 2001’ table above.

Exclamation

Dealer modified my car!! What the?

Just went back to check at my dealers website to see if the old M3 has
been sold yet and then I saw my car in the gallery. :wtf:
  1. They gloss painted/powder coat? the 220M wheels in Black!
  2. The mirror covers are in black!
  3. OEM back spoiler is in black! Never seen this been done before.
Looks kinda good!

Why didn't I do it before?? Haha. But seriously, my car was stock before!
Check it out man.

They've not even put BMW badges back on wheels, to finish the job...
