Be careful of broken tire

Ran over a piece of broken tyre at night yesterday .(not big piece, like an a4 paper but it is curved like a ball)

I was following a SUV and trying exit freeway at right lane, it was 50mph ,I saw one black thing came out under front suv and was rolling ,when I realize that is a piece of broken tyre, I have no time to dodge it because too close . It hit on bumper and grill , bumper is cracked a little bit , and the grill is pushed back a little bit .

Hate broken tyre and I decide keep longer distance with front car in the future even exit freeway.

Is it possible to fix it under cost $200 if no change bumper?

Can we claim the loss against the department who is in charge of cleaning freeway?

Red face Oh that sucks

I know the feeling about broken tires in the road happen to me twice. The first time it damaged my Hamann front lip I had on my car and cracked it had to replace it. The second time broken semi truck tire in the road I was behind a SUV just like you no time to react and I was in a constuction zone. The tire did some pretty good damage to my OEM bumper it rip my Hamann front spoiler smooth off , it rip off all the engine access covers under the and it did damage at the rear of the car near the muffler when it exit from under the vehicle . I had to use my insurance to cover the damage and since my OEM bumper and my Hamann front lip combined cost to replace was $$$$. I just had the repair shop replace my OEM bumper with a Arkym bumper since it would cost about the same to replace the Original Hamann front lip and the OEM bumper . Good luck with your repairs I feel your pain

I know how you feel, I hit a nice chunk of tire on the 405. I now have 2 nice chips in my front bumper and a chip on the hood. Oh well I guess it's broken in now.

I think we should go to ask truck company for the cost of damage, almost all the broken tires come from those rebuild truck tires and those kind of tires are used by container truck or some freight truck . we can see a lot broken tires on freeway 710 or the section 60 and 10 where is close to 710 .

I don't know if the Stealership will charge you, but if you have a good service rep he should be able to take care of you

wow, that damange is at least a $600 repair. They have to put a heatgun to it, mode it back, then repaint. I say don't fix it or just replace the whole piece and not repair it.
