currently with admiral on 2 car policy so will see what the renewal comes in at....

am thinking or refinancing my car with oracle car finance - they sent me an email the other day with a free car insurance offer....we will see if this works....

I'd be happy with anything less than a grand for our type of car......
LV may be worth a punt, I've just moved to them from Admiral who keep substantially bumping up their premiums.

Cheers ed - £1,467.90 including exhaust and lighting mods, £650 excess...

just refreshed comparison website that I used last year - came up with thames city insurance, policy underwritten by Zenith insurance - including mods £1,024.90....£625 excess...

anyone used them before? I'm ready to part with cash..but this quote is considerably less than the comp adm coming in at 1,650ish...

Today must be a good day to renew insurance

Well the renewal from admiral came in the post today £3,212 including Mrs H's car - 1,571 for the m3...called them up and got through to a very nice lady in their canadian call centre. After a few clicks and some pleasant conversation, and a few tweaks the renewal came in at £907. Thought I'd just refresh the usual comparision websites and no joy. So called them back to accept the quote except instead of £907 it came in at £776 including mods and £600 excess.

Thank you Admiral - you just made my day.

Only got 1 years no claims mate as I had been an additional driver before then. I also have 6 points Plus live in a busy city where insurance prices are higher.

Avoid the price comparison sites. It's a sham.

Quote:
Confused.com owned by Admiral. Yes, that Admiral. They also own elephant.co.uk, Bell Direct and Diamond, the womens car insurance specialist.

GoCompare are “independent” but have received a £30m loan from esure
. If they can’t pay esure back in cash, esure become a major shareholder. That’s according to the Insurance Times.

Compare the Market is owned by Budget. This one is a bit naughty, as all of the brands quoted are Budget group companies – but they don’t make that obvious – they also own Dial Direct, “Local Broker“, ibuyeco, Quote Mart, and Junction who run the insurance arms of the Post Office, Marks and Spencer, Debenhams, Bradford & Bingley, Homebase and yesinsurance.com.

MoneySupermarket have just floated (in what was described as an “unfortunate” stock market debut, they failed to raise as much cash as had been hoped for, partly due to a recent Google penalty for link spamming which saw their web traffic shrink alarmingly!). As such they are independent.

Re: insurance costs, I'm finding Admiral and Aviva far more expensive these days or require stupid excess amounts. Have just renewed with Nationwide for £485 protected, £550 excess and I have 11years no claims.
