I'll put money down if other car has full leather or less miles. Not sure why else I would. If you know a reason, let me know. If the other person has less options, I'd expect them to put money down.

Coupe has a higher starting price than the sedan, so apples to apples the coupe would've been more depending on negotiated price.

Why would someone do this for free? The coupe is worth more, regardless of options.

+1
the coupe is a more expensive car if both cars have the same options. so you should post an estimate of how much youre willing to offer to trade to a coupe.

The Coupe is ONLY more expensive cause it has the CF roof and Sedan has steel roof stock.

Once you add the Moon Roof to the Sedan, prices are the same.

You don't sound too serious about this trade.

The sedans are discounted more, and don't retain as much value. Not that the coupe is an investment, but hopefully you get my point.

You aren't going to get a 1 for 1 straight up trade, is not happening.

What do you mean? I'm totally serious. If someone wants a Sedan as much as I want a Coupe, it's on.

Maybe the CF roof was actually like $1000 more than the Moon roof, so yes, with exactly the same options/miles, I'd kick in an extra G.

prices are different because of different body styles, not the CF roof....that is the most retarded logic I have heard....apples to apples as someone mentioned before.....and yes the CF roof is free and that is something that really sets the coupe apart.....and I dont think that someone who bought the coupe would be willing to trade it in for a sedan unless there is a considerable amount of monetary (3 Gs?)compensation just for the chage in body style

Are you guys serious?? You're calling "MY" logic "retarted? ...and YOU say the CF roof is FREE? Nothing is free dude. It's $2500, and that is CHEAP for a CF roof!!!! $2500 is most likely "their" (BMW's) cost and that price is passed on to you. Why doesn't the price get lower if you del the CF roof you ask? Cause it's NOT an option, you're payin for it either way, so may as well get it.

Anyway, the cars are exactly the same except for the CF roof which adds $2500 to the price of the car. The CF roof comes standard. If the Sedan offered a CF roof as an option, it would add roughly $2500 to the price of the car, bringing it to exactly the price of the Coupe.
$59,625 Coupe
$57,175 Sedan (without Moonroof)
$58,225 Sedan (with Moonroof)

As a point of refference, here's a CF roof to go on an M3 CSL. $2900 is the price, and that my friends is AFTERMARKET!!

http://www.bimmernav.com/store/catal...-item-132.html

"Hey guys, I bought an M3 and they through in a CF roof, for FREE!!"
"Than why is it $2500 more than the Sedan that doesn't get a CF roof?"
"Err...uh.. ..cause it's a sedan"

Ridiculous!!

Oh, I get it. He's the one that doesn't get it. They're charging you $2500 for the roof (which is actually a great price for a factory piece). ..and if you don't want it, too bad, BMW as orderd a freakin' LOT of 'em and you'll be paying for it.

I totally hear ya. I actually like having the MR. I wonder how many, if given the choice, would delete the CF roof and save an extra $2500?? A LOT I'm sure.

Good luck man but with the huge attitude you are making it quite hard for yourself to get a trade. I just sold my sedan and bought a coupe, love the coupe so much more!

If someone wants/needs a Sedan more than their coupe, and they're serious, I don't think a few words and a debate on a forum is gonna deter them. My car is perfect, and if theirs is, it's on. Ya know?

For sure! Good luck, you won't regret getting the coupe. I know I don't!
